why did they still have their starters in against our bench with 2 minutes left ? ------------------ http://www.democrats.com mgh 1925-2001
Because our bench scared them and brought us within 11 points with like 6 min left. ------------------
They should have been pulled when there was 2 minutes left. How classless. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Aldeman was very mad at his bench play. he has done this to both the starting 5 and the bench a few times this year. he pulled all starters off the floor in the first quarter after 3 minutes earlier in the year. ------------------ [This message has been edited by SandB/Bill (edited March 21, 2001).]
Heck, I don't blame them. Colsen was tearing them up! 6 Assists and 6 Points in 7 minutes. They were scared! I think that it would be embarrassing to go to your scrubs twice in one game. If you're going to call on your starters again, you might as well let them go out and have fun. ------------------
It is no more classless than 'running up the score'. You have to do what you have to do to win the game. ------------------ Nice guys finish last ... and im surely not going to finish last!
Guys- Remember a month or so ago when everyone got mad at the Cavs, because of th fight over the gorditas (I know it wasn't the rocket game but it was mentioned on here). Basically erveryone at the time said you play to win so don't get mad when someone scores on you late to run up the score. The Kings are fighting fr the #1 pot in the West and they just wanted to make sure it was over.
It's not classless at all. Teams should play their hardest for the entire 48 minutes. I sure wish the Rockets would (discounting their most recent string of wins, of course). ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
Well, true. I do support 48 minutes of play, but I would have preferred it if it was the Kings' third string playing their hardest, not the starters. When it was still an eleven point game with 2 minutes left, the Rockets were not going to come back. They just wanted to pad the score. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
When it was still an eleven point game with 2 minutes left, the Rockets were not going to come back. That's 4 3pters in 2minutes... not impossible. The Rockets came back from 10 down in 3 minutes against the Pacers last week, right? Besides, what would really have been stupid is if the Kings put in their subs and proceeded to lose that game, no matter how unlikely it was. ------------------ http://www.swirve.com ... more fun than a barrel full of monkeys and midgets.
I just thought it was lame seeing Webber Thomas Stojackitup Langhi Williams Colson Turkogkesesreste Bullard Divac Carlos If Mobley and Mo had been in, I would have understood it. But come on, that matchup is worse than the 96 Bulls versus the 2001 Bulls. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. dc rock, I think the word "hell" in a thread title is very inappropriate. Shame on you. <font size="1">that said; Is #33 a prick? Hell yeah!</font>
Adelman was definitely upset with his bench. They even closed the Kings locker room off and had a meeting to talk about the poor play from the bench. The way the Rockets were scoring, two minutes were not enough to be sure of anything. ------------------
