Steve faces the problem how to lead the team to victory after the JVG come.Give him time to adjust because he is one of all star in the team, he will fit for the new system in this season and co-play with yao as royle player in roc to succeed in the league. All our fans be patient.
I dont see how people can say this was immature or 'not a very good example of leadership". Would it show more leadership to go run and hide in the lockeroom? What happen was simple, Woods disrespected Steve in front of his teamates, and Steve handled the situation. I just can't see how yall think walking off the court while someone is talking mess to you shows leadersip. This reminds me of the 1999-2000 season aginst the mavs when Walt Williams decked Shawn Bradley or even better when Barkley tackled Shaq.
That was the Wizard Walt Williams, about 2 or 3 years ago, a clean hook (not sure if I remember, but i think it was a hook). Everyone hates Shawn Bradley. It's so funny. Players always get in scuffles with him. Even Dallas fans hate him. When I was at the Rockets Mavs game at the AAC, I noticed everybody moaning and groaning at everything Bradley did. He didn't even play that badly. I thought it was hilarious. But back to the game. Fighting and hatred and attitude and anger after a loss is good to me. It's not great, but it's a lot better than apathy or self pity.
Barkley taking down Shaq was great. Did any one catch the Raptors and Lakers game last week? It was not really a fight, but on one play that dude Meng Bateer was guarding Shaq and Bateer accidently knocked Shaq down . it was no flop, he actually outmuscled Shaq. i wish Yao had Bateer's strenght.
yeah, Bateer is a muscular beast.... if Yao was built like that though he would never be able to run because he would be so heavy
Actually I believe Hakeem was once involved in a fight (1997?)with Antonio McDyess back when he played for Phoenix.
What is the big deal? Steve didn't throw a punch, get into a wrestling match with anyone, or any other kind of physical altercation. Two guys were upset, stepped to each other and it didn't go any further. Big Deal!
Hakeem was involved in numerous fights during his career, however, most of those were during his younger days. He calmed down quite a bit circa 1992-1993. Hakeem also wasn't above throwing elbows either. Among Hakeem's victims: Michael Cage (more than once) Olden Polynice (more than once) Mitch Kupchack Roy Tarpley (Jim Peterson tried to fight him too, but Roy ran away like a sissy) I wanna say Hakeem punched, or tried to punch someone during the 86 series with the Celtics, but I can't remember. Those are the ones that immediately come to mind. I am sure others can name a few more.
