Still not sure if that would get the deal done. Kanter and McBuckets both have contracts coming off the books earlier than Anderson's. I think that was a huge part of the motivation to make a deal with OKC, as opposed to what other teams were offering. We just needed Melo not to fold and expand his list right when the pressure was mounting heavily on the Knicks organization to get a deal done.

I get Melo doesn't want to cause a scene and everything, but c'mon. Don't insist on only being traded to Houston and then cave right at the breaking point.

    Dear Ryan,

Hit your 3pt shots consistently at home and on the road. We are paying you 19M/per to do one thing consistently.

    Which duo is better?

    Tobias Harris / Fournier

    Or

    Ariza / Anderson

He is a pawn in this league like every other player not a current superstar. Do I feel bad? Yeah but it was the poisonous contract we wanted to get rid of and not the good guy with a reasonable contract.

I hear ya but he also went 3-29 from behind the 3pt line at home when the cards were on the table in the playoffs while he was healthy.

Glad you got that off your chest.

Now maybe Ryno will be able to sleep again, knowing that some random Internet fan forum guy feels bad about wanting a vastly superior player in his spot.

Seriously, fans want their teams to improve as much as possible, and the easiest way to do that is to replace current players with better ones. Why is that something any of us should feel bad about??

    Yeah, and I hear you.

But, the entire team kind of dropped the ball in the playoffs too. Harden played some of the worst basketball I've ever seen in my life, in the most crucial moments in our season. Yet, I still believe in him.

Every game this season that Ryan Anderson plays poorly will be viewed through the prism of "because of this guy's contract" the Rockets didnt get Carmelo Anthony.

on the bright side, every game he plays poorly means at least he isn't out injured again, meaning at least his contract isn't completely toxic yet and we still have hope to trade him as an expiring 2 seasons from now.....yippee

It's not even that I wanted Melo so much as I just wanted to dump Ryno. If y'all boo him everytime he touches the ball I wouldn't care, lol.

Anderson is gonna have to pick himself up and play worth his contract this season . He's got a find a way to shoot at home . He should have been practicing blindfolded at TC this offseason.

He's one year further removed from back surgery . He didn't have major injuries at the end of the season. He just got married . He should be in ****ing great shape to start the year.

That's my positive Anderson spin .
