This is such hoursesh--. Players do care about trades. There is numerous examples of players playing worse because their name was mentioned. Melos is the opposite. He didn't get traded ... well ... Let me see what I can do. He won't be openly critical, but would be interesting to hear stories in a couple yrs.

If you look at Scott Perry and Steve Mills there is definitely a disagreement. Perry speaking as if he wants to keep Melo. Mills wants to trade him

 

I feel like some Clutchfans were expecting Him to say we have traded Melo to the Rockets this morning.

One interesting thing I caught was when Hornacek was answering a question, he used the word "if" and then abruptly stopped himself and re-routed his words. He was going to say "if Carmelo is here". It sounds to me like they were instructed to shape all statements from the standpoint that Carmelo would be a Knick.

 

Still waiting for the BIG question...."did you, or someone in the organization, promise to trade Melo?"

Fully expect a response of "We aren't going to talk about who said what...we are looking forward to having Melo here on Monday."

And they are going to drag him to camp and drag him through the mud during the regular season until he asks for a buyout at 75 cents to a dollar unless he expands his trade list which is what they want. If they can't have that, they want to save money on a buyout. Because they are the Knicks, and shame on anyone here who thought they were going to handle this like a normal rationally thinking place of work that cares about their people.
