Why rockets missed the playoff each of last four years? Why they could not held the position last year after beating Suns 3:1, and then lost uglily to Utah and Portland? Let us look at the Cleveland cavaliers, we can not say Ricky Davis or Miller were not talent basketball players. However, they are losers in the league whether they had Labron James or new coach or not. Let us look at the Utah. After losing Malone and Stockton, almost all predition in preson showed there were one of the weakest team according to the player's overall talent. Yet obviously they can win close games. Sloan is a great coach, but other than that, they have great mentality and intensity. Good back to Rockets. Honestly, Steve and Cat have been changed a little currently under coach JVG. These duos have great talent, shooting, atheletic... Yet they were always losers in close games. If we got bad lucky in Raptors game, we got a good luck playing against Warriors game. If Mike Dunlevy made last open shot, it was another story... If we say PG is a playmaker, SF is not better than most of the starting PG in the league. He made stupid dribble turnovers in the strech time, and even have no ability (60% time) to create an open shot for his teammates. We saw VCarter for bosh, Speedy Claxton for Mike Dunlevy at the last minute for open shot. We can't say SF not play hard, we can't say his IQ, other than that, what is the problem? Mentality...Look at Mobley, this guy has great shooting touch. Yet like Steve, he made last minute stupid mistakes, fouled Dampier when rockets only led one, try to fight with Yao for a rebound. Bad play decisions... If JVG can't change them, please trade one of them and bring in one more veteran like JJ..
Actually this thread is not as bad as some of the other threads he started few days ago... still a long way to go, but let's give him some time. tigernet, Regarding your post, I understand your frustration (& I agree if JVG can't make both guards work together under a team concept, one of them would has to go), but it appears to me that the threads you started are purely for venting purpose. A better way to start a thread & foster good discussion is to offer both objective and subjective views of a certain situation, use logical reasoning to discuss/analyse the pros & cons & asking for people's opinion regarding them.
