Poor guy, he is not particularly good at predicting future, isn't he?

Hope he is better at recording the past ;)

Nike must have done something terribly wrong. In Yao's mind, it is about Honesty and Integrity, not the money. I guess Yao's treatment by Nike in the first year also hurts Yao's trust in Nike(No promotion at all).

Just like when you tell your boss you are going to quit, your boss tries to offer you a raise to retain you. What do you do? You better quit because sooner or later you will OR be forced to quit. There is no more trust between you and your boss from then on.

    Come on man,

Why would Nike give Yao a contract more than what Reebok has offered.

looking at the Chinese market, I am sure its nothing compared to the US'. Even in China, Basketball is hardly known and even though its in China, the favorite players are like Vince Carter and Allen Iverson, not Yao Ming.

    This article is hogwash

Those are typical Chinese media BS. How much was the Nike's contract? 1 billion? It takes a r****ded to believe this BS. Please stop posting those or make it stiky with a title rumor from China. So every thing from sina like could go there.

have you ever been to yao's website and see how many fans there and what they are doing to support yao? have you taken a trip with yao when he played around the china cities? you must be crazy to see carter and iverson is more popular than yao in china today. (could be true before you came to NBA but I still doubt it but certainly not today).

I really wish people don't state the things they hardly know matter-of-fact-ly.

I'll tell you this, if that conversation really did happen and the Rockets find out it made it into the media, there will be some changes in how that info is handled in the future.

I know for a fact that the Rockets absolutely DESPISE media leaks. I mean, they protect their secrets like they were the codes to the US nuclear missle silos. When word hits the street about things before they want them to or if they don't want them to, they go freakin' ballistic.

I cannot imagine the idea that the GM is trying to guage a rookie's preferences for players and coaching staff would go over well with other players (unless he addressed them as well, which is possible) and it certainly isn't something they want in the public domain.

    Like the "secret uniform change?";)

I'm glad Yao chose Rbk... enough with the "AIR" era already.

    2" vert's for everyone!
