    Keep in mind that sponsorships are revenue that goes into the league-wide revenue-sharing pool. Owners aren't going to allow another owner to use that patch for their own private promotion and eat a $6-8m per year opportunity loss. Tilman will have to actually buy the space at acceptable market rate. Jerseys are league property, after all. Is that the best use of his marketing dollars.

    I suppose if he wants to get restaurants in China he might find it worth an NBA jersey ad campaign. I'd hate to see him throw away a revenue stream like that and actually increase his cost instead when Luxury taxes are going to hit, soon, though.
