Just dont understand how people have so much love/hate or let any part of their daily lives become so affected by what a President says or does. I haven't been a fan of our last 3 Presidents and yet my life has been the same no matter whos been in charge, I am blessed and enjoy life.

All I'm saying is that on a line scale this argument can't begin in the middle.

We are all pretty blessed for the most part in this country, and you are right that very little changed in the past from president to president which is baffling that so many people in this country thought their lives was so bad they viewed Trump as a large stick of dynamite that could blow our Democracy to the ground and something better would emerge.

People haven't realized how well our Democracy has worked out for everyone in the past, and while there is alot that is frustrating, and there is corruption, very little changes in your life is its a Dem, or a Republican under normal circumstances because they have all operated under a system of checks and balances that really limit the power of the President.

That's the difference here with this president. If it was Marco Rubio who won, I'd say... he sucks, but the worst thing that will happen is what has been happening the past 50 years with maybe a tax break on the wealthy, and our healthcare would continue to suck. If Hillary won it would be more of the same, and nothing would get done because Congress and the Senate wouldn't pass a damn thing the Democrats proposed.

    But life would go on.

With Trump, its different. At least it has the potential to be. He doesn't operate by the rules, and obviously has no respect for our laws. He is in love with Authoritarians, plays with race relations like a kid with matches and gasoline, and plays Nuclear War Chicken with a dictator just to deflect the news for 24 hours.

Your post is right that we are blessed and life is too short of love/hate their side and the other side sooo much, but as of now this one feels different to me. I hope to God we are just overreacting, but I will feel alot better if the Dems win back the House and are able to halt his unlimited power that I dont think he realizes he has just yet.

Have to admit I'm a fan of Jellybean Hill. Could be the name of children's amusement park, a blues musician, a froyo place, a game (phone or board), and many other possibilities. It's just a solid name for many things.

Yes, as scheduled. I believe she started off the next show talking about this. Personally, I haven't seen SC6, and am now less likely too. I don't watch sports shows to get political opinions, and one has to be pretty obtuse to not see the bias ESPN presents. You could compare what Hill said to what got Schilling fired, for example, and note the VERY different paths taken. There are plenty more examples.

The problem with bringing politics into entertainment is it is simply bad business to piss off half your potential market. Ask the Dixie Chicks. It would be the same for someone on the other side...well, no it wouldn't, see above.

No, not denying that at all. They were some of the best orating Presidents we've ever had. My issue was with what you said after that, which I bolded. "very little chance they don't mean what they say". Clinton in particular was infamous for saying what any group wanted to hear, even if he'd just said the opposite to a different group a few hours earlier. It's what politicians do. The joke about 'how can you tell when a politician is lying...when his lips move', applies here. Their power stems from their listener's ignorance to this basic fact...which your comment seemed to epitomize.

gotcha, i thought you were disputing their ability to communicate and articulate thoughts. clearly trump and his limited vocabulary have trouble doing that. in the case of "bad people on both sides," both obama and clinton could have said effectively the same thing in such a refined way that they would not have seen that level of backlash. trump with his 77 word count, 7 year old level, vocabulary can't do that. he gets in trouble and mocked for "good" things he's said.

Precedent was set, she needs to be fired. No reason Curt should've been, if Jemele isn't. If Jemele isn't fired ESPN is basically playing favoritism and exposing themselves for what they are.

This is a horrible example to set.

I don't know her persona. I don't watch ESPN anymore unless it's for a Tennis tournament. If her persona is outspoken blunt opinionated Barkley type person, then they should reward her. If she doesn't play off of that kind of persona, then what she said could be out of line, but not worth her being fired as a result of what she said.

Jemele Hill probably increased viewership for ESPN by 100%.
