    That is an effect of the storm surge which behaves similarly to a tsunami. I'm watching live video right now of Tampa Bay emptying out. Basically as the surge hits shallow water it starts to pile up and pulls up the water from shore out. The water will come back and with a vengeance. If you're ever at the coast and see something like this run to higher ground.

    Jeff is convinced he is in a spot where the eye will go directly over him. 14 miles north of Marco. I think he estimated 3pm EST. anyone else hear his time estimated

    There is a lot on the Periscope app. Within the app search Sarasota Irma. I did a quick check but didn't see any live feeds, just ppl doing their Before shots, I guess. I'm sure there will be live ones later. Also, ppl will share these feeds on Twitter...search the hashtags #irma #sarasota

    Jeff said his weather instruments are showing the eye wall is producing 145mph winds on the right side. Marco will be raked with the full brunt of the dirty side. Looks like the actual right side of the wall will go right through it...maybe without even relief from the eye itself.
