    What you got?
    How you get it?
    How did you recover?

We all have battle scars. Wounds. Broken bones and ligaments, most of them have interesting stories.....most of them lol

Mine, and the reason I made this thread...torn lower back muscle, strained sacroiliac joint. Playing ball, but my son had just been born and my wife's recovery from surgery was slow sledding. I was barely sleeping, still working and doing everything a newborn needs AND a recovering mom. I went hard in the paint, went up for a layup and came down in a world of hurt.

I can definitely recommend not doing it lol... the pain, crawling around the house, not being able to work, or have sex, or sit up straight to eat or do anything. It was a real one. I tried chiro, pills, massage, physical therapy, more pills and finally what put me back on track was dry needling. If anyone has a lingering muscle issue, I would absolutely direct you to do some research and give dry needling a chance. It's painful as all hell but I don't know where I'd be without it.

Anyway, that was about a year and a half ago, recently been back on track working out too. But to be able to go play ball again. Even with that lingering nag that will probably never fully go away...being able to play ball again is something I will never take for granted. It's a blessing.

    Yours?

Have a pretty good scar on the outside of my right wrist. Cut myself pretty damn good trying to break in to a construction trailer back when I was young, r****ded, and on drugs. Didn't get stitched up because I waited a few days before going to the doctor and at that point they didn't want to risk infection if they did close it up. Also, tore my ACL about 7 years ago playing ball and have a scar running down the front of my right knee. Other than that, I have been lucky to not break any bones or have any other serious injuries. (Knocks on wood)

Nothing major. Busted my chin open when I was little and there's a little scar but you can't see it with my beard.

Had rained earlier in the day. Out riding my bike. Was doing skidding stops. Saw a puddle. Thought that a skidding stop in a puddle would be badass. It was not. Blood stained the street for a couple days. Got stitches and eventually all was well.

I did get knocked unconcious on a basketball court before but no (outside) scars from that bball injury.

Nice, I got leveled playing Ultimate Frisbee one time. Went up for a catch, got upended and landed weird. I kinda remember coming to a minute later with everyone clearly relieved, apparently the fall was horrific but I was totally fine. I couldn't remember what had happened, kinda felt like waking up in the middle of the field lol...so this is a second hand story about myself. Only time I've ever been knocked out.

I got a similar scar, right across my shin from a work accident. I had a bone bruise, a gash and I had rolled my ankle inwards which is about 60 million times as painful as rolling it out like when you play some ball. Anyway, the gash was deep but not wide and right directly over my shin which was swollen, the doctor basically said sewing it up wasn't feasible. Took a minute but they all healed up, got myself quite a dig right on the front of my leg. Idk if there's a nerve there but if it gets hit just right it feels like my leg is on fire haha

Well, one summer while I was 8 or 9, staying at my Grandma's house, I decided to cut out the Toucan Sam mask on the back of a box of Froot Loops.

I managed to cut everything out ok with the big old pair of metal scissors, except for the eye holes. I had to push on the eye hole realllllly hard with the scissors, harder and harder, until finally the scissors broke through the cardboard.. and almost took my fingertip off. It healed, but I do have a very interesting scar from it.

Not exactly a battle, except with stupidity.

Scar on my forehead (almost invisible now since it's been 26 years). Over-jumped the pit on a stage dive at the Pain Teens/Bayou Pigs/Cinco Dudes show at #'s back in 91. bartender tied a towel around my head so I wouldn't have to leave. Left anyway to the hospital to get stitched up.

Scar on my chin. Jumped the fence at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville so we could skate down the concrete walkway that goes from the top of the stadium seating on the sides to field level behind the end zones. It was a blast, but the there was a partially closed gate at the bottom and I had taken the turn to wide to make it through the small opening. Threw myself into a roll and rolled sideways into the fence pole. scraped my chin on the concrete. skated to the Quack-Shack to get stitched up and then skated back to my dorm.

Got a nice 5" on on my right lower leg from a stingray, 2 nice pencil-diameter puncture spots on my right forearm from a rattlesnake, couple of nice ones on my right arm from a car wreck, 4 or 5 little ones from a knee reconstruction, and about a gajillion various little ones from various work/play/stupidity related doings.

Nicely done. Rattler huh? Do tell.

Only other significant one I have is from a pit mix biting me when I was young. Took a nice piece of my leg out, to this day I still can't feel the inside of my knee. They had to cut little pieces of meat out to evenly sew it, sewed it up inside and on top. And I was conscious, whatever they deaden you with barely did anything. I was like 8, my dad had to hold me down. To this day I've only seen the man cry twice, once when my grandpa passed and once when he had to hold me down so they could put my **** back together.

I work in a metal shop so my hands are like one giant callous/scar lol

Nothing too exciting. Was clearing out cedar trees on the side of a little canyon out at the ranch, went through with the loppers first and came back with the chainsaw for the bigger ones. I had already walked through this particular spot about 4 times when it was quiet so I wasn't too worried that I couldn't hear anything because of the saw. Wrong. Started cutting and saw him just about the same time he plastered me. Walked back up the the truck and drove to the hospital in Fredericksburg.

Dang, I've heard the venom hurts worse than the bite but I've never been in that position.

I walked up on one once in a creek behind my grand parents. Thing said "get" I said yessir and ran lol...

Didn't really hurt. About ~30% of them are "dry bites" (no venom), but you never know. I started feeling funky about 20 minutes later, but nothing bad.

Don't ice it, don't use a tourniquet, don't cut on it, don't suck on it, clean it with alcohol or soap and water after about 10 minutes, keep it below heart level, stay calm (heart rate low), get to a hospital was what I was taught.

I love snakes, they're awesome and beneficial, but I do kill every rattlesnake I see out at the ranches.
