I haven't had vinyl for probably 15-20 years but the 2 that were my favorites were Rush - Moving Pictures and Pink Floyd - The Wall, I wish I would have kept them just for nostalgia

I sold my vinyl years ago because I needed the space and no longer listened to them anyway. Had a lot of dance classics though.

New York New York - Microchip League
Male Stripper - Man To Man Meets Man Parish
New Beat Take 4 (with "I Sit On Acid", "Tanzen", "The Org@$m", etc)
    First Issue - PIL

The only vinyl I kept was:

Ramones Mania - The Ramones (Autographed by Johnny, Joey, Marky & CJ)

Worked at Texas Tapes & Records in Pasadena and Jazzman Record shop in Nacogdoches all through late 70's through mid 80's so vinyl is dated but voluminous. Lots of promo stuff and imports. Here are a few of the collectibles...

I just got some Anal Trump records for my birthday in July. Fun stuff. My favorite record though has to be my Dead Kennedys Frankenchrist record with the H.R. Geiger poster Penis Landscape in the sleeve. This poster was part of a controversy in the mid 80s when lead singer Jello Biafra was charged in court with distributing harmful material to minors. Even though he was not convicted, it almost bankrupted his record label, Alternative Tentacles.

My wife hates the sound, but she likes the idea of it.

I am going to go through all my vinyl when I get home from work. I am sure I forgot to mention. some cool records.

I can't answer this question without going through all my LP's. I have hundreds. Maybe I'll get back to this thread in a month or two. We just did some remodeling and they are in boxes buried under boxes. A lot of boxes.

Not too much. I will give Pinback a listen tonight. I had only heard of Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation. He does the Anal Trump vocals and I think Rob Crow writes all the music.

I had a 12" single of Stigmata autographed by Ministry that I had them sign in front of Record Rack the day of the land of rape and honey tour at Numbers way back when. Not sure what ever happened to it. I think a girl friend swiped it in a breakup.

One of my top 10, maybe 5 bands of all time. Zach smith plays bass in it and i listed him as my favorite bassist ever in the bassist thread. Rob crow does guitar and sing.

I actually got this vinyl at their show in los angeles but gave it to my friend. Limited to 2000 copies

I gotta listen to cattle decapitation more. I know travis ryan is the singer for anal trump.

Rob crow is one of my favorite musicians of all time. He is heavily involved in the mathrock scene and has worked with zach hill from hella/deathgrips plus nick reinhart from tera melos

I don't know if anything I have qualifies as "cool", but these are 5 records (of among about 200) I cherish having.
    1. The Beatles - Sgt Pepper (UHQR) My most valuable record, also the most I ever paid for a record, not in perfect condition, but 95% perfect. Mofi Beatle records sound different than any CD or normal vinyl I've heard. I don't know if I can say they are better but is certainly an interesting listen.
    2. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - In almost perfect condition, I paid 25 bucks for it at Cactus like 10 years ago (great deal!). Not everybody loves the sound, but I think it sounds great.
    3. Bruce Springsteen - Live at Main Point- I am a big Bruce fan and especially a big live Bruce fan, I was stoked when I saw this on the record shelf. This is my favorite live Bruce bootleg and while it sounds no better than the CD, it sounds miles better than my other Bruce vinyl bootleg.
These two are my favorite sounding vinyl:
    4. The Who- Who's Next- Classic[IMG]
[IMG] Records 200gm vinyl. Really sounds significantly better than any other version I've heard of this album.
    5. Roy Orbison-All Time Greatest Hits - Roy's voice and music tend to lend itself well to the way I listen to vinyl (in all it's tube glory) but this is a euphoric experience for me.

I was at Jazzman primarily from '79 till '84 and then only sporadically over the next couple of years. I got my job at Jazzman after working at Texas Tapes and Records in Pasadena. Good times. TT&R offered me all kinds of "benefits" to stay but I needed to return to school. He called Jazzman and told him to fire his worst employee and hire me instead. Put me through college. Jazzman owner now runs a gallery here in Austin on 6th street.
