If I were Les, I'd be using private jets regularly. Party in Miami, Rockets game, snow skiing in Japan, camp out at K2 base camp, eat fish and chips in London with the Queen, Rockets game, beach on Kauai, massage on Tonga, swim with the great whites in Adelaide, yacht time, Rockets game, fishing for bluegill with grandson, Vegas for the fight, lunch with Christy Brinkley, drinks with Oprah, wagon ride in Oregon, Rockets game, more fish and chips but in Cardiff with Gareth Bale, script club with a couple stacks, Rockets game, back to the script club, meet Ming Tsai for some East Meets West style pb&j, Rockets game, etc... never let the private jet rest very long.
I think ownership is overrated. Dan Gilbert is crappy owner yet his team has been to 4 and probably 5 finals and has a ring.
They control the game experience, TV, tickets, food, media and merchandise. Root Sports, Corporate seats, twitter, Aramark food marked up by 1000% , and uniforms that are ugly.
Someone look at all of Lebrons following list. If for any reason he is following golden nugget. Casinos. Landrys restaurants or sea food ****. It's happening gif post coming soon.
Ehh....... it isn't that simple. He doesn't have a history of cutting costs that are necessary. "He hates spending money".......... then spends 2.2 billion dollars.
It would definitely be better if the new owner were richer, like the tech guys. However, Tillman will NOT be using 70% of his net worth to buy the rockets. He will be getting a massive term loan facility to purchase the rockets that will be secured by the assets of the rockets. He just needs to make sure he rockets are profitable enough to pay Principal and interest, and that he has enough wealth to cover cash shortages. Why use your own money when you can borrow someone else' money to do it?
Bolded is the issue. Needing it to be profitable is not 100% parallel with doing everything you can to win.
Awful. We replaced Les, the best owner this city has ever had, with a worse more conny version of Uncle Bob.
I'm sure the money flow vs interest part is already answered before the sale. My issue with the purchase expectations are the effect of the hardships with Harvey and the financial pressure afterward. Will that affect the numbers that were looking steady for the past few seasons?
Are u struggling? Cuz les is and I want to party with struggling homeless guys in 50 mill apartments.
