Here is an outstanding personal account of the event from Eric Berger. https://arstechnica.com/science/201...s-flood-storm-ever-and-ill-never-be-the-same/
I'm fairly certain it is a function on elevation of Bayou vs the elevation of the storm drains. Look at elevationmap.net Right now, the Bayou is at around 77 feet at Dairy Ashford and Bayou. Good luck to you!! H
He's being extreme but this weekend their might be a storm forming in a similar spot that Harvey formed and move toward TX/LA by Monday or Tuesday next week.
An approaching front as well but there is great news. The latest euro model is out and it keeps this system buried deep in the Bay of Campeche.
So we survived the storm without any damages....until now. Sister decided to go get her nails done and drive into flood waters. What a moron. Now her car is stuck.
I would understand if she was trying to eat or get groceries. Like imagine a guy getting stuck and losing his car because he needed make up or to get his nails done. We have too much sense for that. Women. I've needed groceries for almost a week now and for the past few days I've been eating nothing but convenient store items and fast food. I just ate McDonald's for the first time in years.
Maybe she was purposely trying to flood her car to file an insurance claim. That would make more sense than getting her nails done...
No she wasn't. She saw some cars passing through and thought she could make it. Water wasn't the issue. Her left tires went off the pavement and now that side of the car is sitting on the frame. Can't do anything. Waiting for a wrecker.
It's not funny, but I had to chuckle a little. Women and their priorities. It's something I could see the gf doing.
