Ugh, it's creeping closer to my moms house. I need the evacuation parts not to cross the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road. Should I tell her to pack a bag in case she has to evacuate, but don't try to go anywhere tonight? Where do you check to see what roads are open around you.

    :-(

Uncontrolled probably just means that it overflowed its banks somehow. They were expecting this to happen and that's why they attempted controlled releases. I think for Addicks anything over around 108 feet would be "uncontrolled". In any case, Buffalo Bayou and the already-flooded areas will be impacted by this. But to what extent, I'm not sure.

    Jesus ****ing Christ.

I'm pretty sure my place is under water now. Saw a pic of the area and the next intersection looked like a lake.

Been at my sister's house which is luckily fine. But it's making me real antsy to go home and check it out.

Not that I can considering all the roads out of here are flooded.

I don't think it has stopped raining in Fort Bend at all today. This is rediculous.

Trying to rebook my flight and they have seats available on Thurs and Friday. Seems like the water won't be going down enough to where I can come back to SL, right? I don't want to get stranded at IAH.

I updated my previous post with this website which is also FBCOEM's website, but was down earlier : http://fbcoem.org/
On there you can find road closures, but I don't know of a great way to say "this is the path you can take" or "these roads on your way there will be open/closed" :(

Right now, both airport are closed with no reopen date listed. I would think Thursday would be the 1st possible day. Raining like a b**** right now all over Houston. Not suppose to stop soon.

IAH is closed until further notice because the roads leading to it are apparently under water, so they probably won't let people in until those roads clear. There was a United Airlines Twitter post that said it would be closed until noon Thursday, but who knows. You won't be stranded there because, as far as I know, nothing but humanitarian aid is flying in according to their Twitter (unless something changed recently). I think they're trying to stop ppl from drowning trying to get in and out of there, to be honest :

That isn't actually that bad. Of course more than a typical day, but with a disaster this widespread, Houston has been pretty lucky to have kept power in a lot of places. The warning is that trees might fall as the ground is really soaked and the root ball can't handle it. If Harvey flies back in and delivers some 30 MPH wind consistently, you'll see waterlogged rootballs come out of the ground and hit power lines.

Anyways, kudos to Centerpoint. They've been doing a great job.

Thanks for the info @Bobsputin and @Dr of Dunk

I was booking in accordingly to the news that IAH was going to open on Thursday. I'll probably have to rebook again Thursday judging by that picture. Eeeeeek.

Going to be a long wait for 6 or 7 AM. And that's just if the Futuretrack is accurate.
