Katrina has estimates of around 108 billion in damages .. this is still ongoing so hard to say what it will be . They were estimating 40 billion yesterday so even if it doubles that it's well below katrina .There were also around 2000 who lost their lives in katrina and thankfully this event hasn't seen much loss of life
Mine has fully receded. Was halfway up the driveway.....which is bad on my street. Was getting worried.
Well I was wrong. Just got the evac email for New Territory. The following areas are under a MANDATORY evacuation order: First Colony LID #1 Fort Bend County LID #20 Fort Bend County LID #6 Fort Bend County LID #7 Fort Bend County MUD #115 Fort Bend County MUD #46 Fort Bend County MUD #49 Municipal Utility District #121 Palmer Plantation #1 Palmer Plantation #2
Is that still in line with this map? https://fbcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=d1a054f74789410bbe35bed305c81841
CLUTCH FANS MEMBERS: If anyone is in need of help once the roads are drivable, with anything such as moving items from one place to another, if you need perishable items, or a clean-up in your yard, etc., let me know. My email is dandorotik@gmail.com- or you can just send me a PM through here. My schedule is fairly flexible. I live in The Woodlands, so I would be able to help anyone closer to the north part of Houston, but really, if anyone is truly in need of help, I can always take a few hours to do so no matter where you are in Houston. Not a big deal- but just let me know and I'll do what I can. We'll just see when the roads are drivable. Dan
Thanks! Agree we are lucky with the very few number of deaths. What's your take on Houston in general with flooding? Is there a better solution ? BTW I know you're an og poster on here. I remember your name from back in the days. Hope all is well.
Just drove around Alden Bridge area in The Woodlands- FM 1488, Kuykendahl, 242, Greenridge, Research Forest... all drivable, but who knows by tomorrow. The areas down by the Pavilion are where you have to be careful- like Woodlands Parkway and Grogans Mill... also Research Forest and Branch Crossing- that's closed...but not too bad where I am.
Finally stopped raining. Frogs are going crazy. Wonder if this is just a lull or if things are starting to settle down some.
This is the clickable map that is continuously updated. You can also type in your address. It is the ArcGIS database that one of the earlier tweets from the Fort Bend County OEM posted USE THIS link or the same link in the tweet below (zoom in and out with your mouse.) | | v v https://fbcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=d1a054f74789410bbe35bed305c81841 Here's the tweet that leads you to the ArcGIS database link that I posts directly above.
**** is getting real out in Beaumont right now. Power has been flickering and I've given up on sleep. They kept saying it would be bad out East tonight, and they weren't lying. This is by far the heaviest rain we've had here throughout the entire event.
My understanding is the ArcGIS map is the official updated map that the other info is coming from. The Fort Bend County OEM tweet I posted above with the ArcGIS link says it is being updated. I think that is the primary source of all other info to the public.
No, I am shaking my head at you asking for movie recommendations on this thread while others are sitting on their roofs to be rescued and are worried that their house will be submerged.
I live in the woodlands as well. Not much flooding in my area of cochrans crossing, but there were some tornado watches. Havent been on the roads though.
I am in West Katy and it got like 2 feet of water on our street in like 2 hours. . . but the rain has stopped some . .. or lightened I am hoping it will stay low so some drainage can happen Tomorrow hope to be able to get out and maybe do a little shopping We fine but could use more Rocket River
