This is crazy. The trucker had no idea he was driving with this thing lifted?

Glad he hit that aluminum sign before he hit that bridge.

I get they wanted to film, but they could have gotten seriously injured or died following that close.

If you listen to the audio, you can hear them say they were trying to tell him. They also look like they were wearing those reflective/bright yellow construction vests, so I wonder if they worked with him or at a site he was working or something.

Damn, I guess this dump truck thing is way more common than it has to be

Would be an easy fix with an alarm, right?

Either Unions are hiring idiots, or they're working them too long.

Seems there should be a safety pin which would physically eliminate upward separation while in transit.
If so, the site must've been freeway construction right there on the freeway. No way he makes it that far from city streets without hitting a stoplight or taking down some power lines.

Ours has one, it only works if you put the pin in though. Wouldn't be a hydraulic issue, then you wouldn't be able to raise the bed at all, I'm leaning toward the driver being an idiot.

Operator error. Most likely driving with pto engaged and accidentally bumped the dump switch.
