bulls ended up with some high picks coming in but yeah it remains to be seen how Lauri turns out. The indy trade was just plain mind boggling
Surprised me too. Supposedly the Cavs wanted Tatum and the Celtics balked. And they probably were forced to offer the BKN pick instead. And they probably were more willing to do that knowing they have that LAL pick they got from the Tatum trade.
Depreciated picks. Dunn (while picked high, has looked lost and could be a complete bust). LaVine, is coming off ACL surgery and will be a RFA looking to be paid. And the Bulls didn't get a 1st round pick. They just "traded up" from 16 to 7. It was a CRAP haul for Butler who has 2 years remaining on a bargain deal for his caliber of player. Yeah, Indy deal is still laughable. Flat out, Indy could have Kyrie or an IT/BKN1st package right now. Instead they got the booby prize.
dunn was barely picked a year ago. he still has some time to see if he can become a contributor. not the best deal but chicago fully accepted the rebuild mode.
Fantastic trade for cleveland. It's not like uncle drew plays D, so the offense is easily replaced. most importantly you keep Lebron from sending sad tweets to Magic Johnshon for at least a season. and with that Brooklyn winning lottery ticket, you can get any disgruntled superstar that has a year or two remaining to team up with Lebron.
On paper the Celtics look like the 4th best team in the East. People might be tiring on Toronto, but they should still win a ton of regular season games and getting rid of Carroll on its own was a plus - plus they replaced him with CJ Miles (not great, but shot 41% from three last year) - plus a full year of Serge. Wizards should be the same or improve. A lot will depend on Otto Porter. He was so good the first half, then kind of fell of a cliff, really. But the the Celtics did NOT look like the #1 team on paper last year and ended up with it. completely different group of celtics here. can Brad Stevens get them to play above their potential like he did last year?
4th? Kyrie, Hayward, Horford and Brad Stevens alone are better than the Wiz and Raps. Plus Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum? Not to mention Marcus Smart and Rozier... that's a pretty solid and deep team.
This trade was amazing by Boston. They turned IT into a bigger, better, younger, more clutch version of himself. They got a championship vet. Which is valuable to young guys. And all they had to do was give up crowder. which who cares... they have two young stud SF's who need playing time in taytum and brown. And the brooklyn pick which may or may not end up being a good player. You never know. Honestly, their biggest problem is probably horford. Dude's just not that good. His mediocre play and giant salary are really hurting them
Well that's why I put "if they don't choke." More specifically Kyle Lowry. The Mavs/Dirk were always known as chokers before they finally did it. Who knows? Not to say that the Raptors could win, but getting to the Finals isn't impossible in the EAST with Lebron turning 33.
And at 33 hes still the best player in the league. To me the raptors experienced their ceiling already. lowry and DD aren't those type of players to kick it up a notch needed
No doubt he's still the best, but the gap has been closed by multiple players and the CAVS aren't looking too good on D, then again who really looks great on both sides of the ball other than GS and SA? It doesn't matter. GS will repeat and next season LeBron will get on de boat, de banana boat.
I think that's the main reason why people are questioning about IT's potential. The two guys entered the league in the same year but Kyrie is 3 years younger. While Kyrie has been a high level scorer right from the start, Thomas did not crack 20pt average until two years ago. Last season's outburst has "fluke" written all over it. But then again, he might be a late bloomer and he might remain a premier scorer in his prime. In short, Irving is a proven elite scorer. Thomas is sort of a gamble.
Also, let's not forget in process of appeasing GM LeBron, the Cavs have traded away: 2011 - 1st overall - Kyrie Irving 2012 - 4th overall - Dion Waiters 2013 - 1st overall - Anthony Bennett 2014 - 1st overall - Andrew Wiggins With the exception of Tristan Thompson (2011- 4th overall), that's every single first-round pick the Cavs drafted while LeBron was in Miami. Sure, LeBron brought Cleveland a championship, but how much of that was made possible by Cavs getting insanely lucky to land 3 first overall picks in 4 years? Would LeBron have comeback if the Cavs didn't have all those picks? Just remember that when LeBron's career is over and we discuss his legacy -- the amount of picks and star power it took to get him to his rings: Wade, Bosh, Allen, Irving, Thompson, Waiters, Bennett, Wiggins, etc
Celtics trying to push back their window so that they'll still be good when GSW declines. Even with the trade I believe they have 3 picks next year. And for some reason I can't comprehend, a lot of people don't think the nets will be that bad next season.
You clearly hate Lebron because this post is hilarious. Lebron didn't ask for Kyrie to be traded, Kyrie wanted out and he will soon realize how good he had it when Boston sucks next year. The list of players you have under star power is a joke. Bennet??? Waiters??? Thompson? Most famous thing about Thompson is he is dating Khloe Kardashian. Allen was a role player by the time he played with Lebron. Wade was past his prime. Bosh scored 0 pts in a finals game.. Should it really matter that he took matters into his own hands and left. Look at who Magic played with. Who Bird played with. Who Jordan played with. Look at who's on the warriors. All those teams are better than any crappy super team Lebron got to play with.
boston is going to suck next year? good luck with that. you should probably tell vegas something they dont know wade past his prime? no. he was still very much in it. wade was 29 when lebron came and was still one of the top players in the league
