I was surrounded by a bevy of Spurs fans the whole game!!! When the Rockets were down by 19 they were all hype and telling all the Rockets fans to sit down. Then bam! We were up by 10 and went on to win the game! Ha ha ha to all the Spurs fans that were at the game. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Were you over by all those people with the red flashing thingies? Damn that must have sucked. There were some by us in 226, but we just laughed at them. ------------------ Poopy!
Hey I was in 227! Maybe I saw you all but didn't know who you were. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Whoa! Were you by that fat guy in a blue shirt?? We were in row D the first two seats. That is crazy. ------------------ Poopy!
HEY I WAS THAT FAT GUY IN THE BLUE SHIRT!!!! Nah I was behind the backboard in 102. ------------------ Forget LHutz, Bob Rainey is by far the coolest poster in cc.net history! [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited March 17, 2001).]
I was in section 227 row C in seats 9 and 10. Was that near you? I know who you're talking about. He was a Spurs fan. I was about 7 rows down from him. He was the main Spurs fan telling everybody to sit down but I was just laughing at him. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Lil Pun were you sitting by those Spurs fans who had ballons that glowed in the dark? Because I was sitting far away from them and they were getting on my damn nerves ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Well when they turned off the lights at the beginning of the game all I noticed were the flashing buttons that they gave away for free when entering Compaq Center that said Happy St. Patrick's Day. I was sitting right beside the entrance for 227 at the very first seat at the very bottom. If that helps, if not I wrote my exact seating arrangements in an earlier post within this post. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Our season tickets are that entrance too. Section 226 (to the left when you go up the stairs), row E, first four seats on the aisle. What do you look like? ------------------ Poopy!
I look Hispanic (although I'm not), I had a long-sleeved grey shirt on with some jeans. I was sitting in front of two guys wearing black. I was clapping through the first and second quarters but started standing up and cheering during the last two quarters. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Ali is partial to phat guys...(oooh that was a Li'l punny). [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited March 18, 2001).]
What does that mean, heypartner? I'm not implying that you meant anything bad but just wanting to know exactly what it means. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
I was in Section 114, EE on the floor sitting next to some Spurs fan. After the game, I said to my girlfriend: "Man, it would suck to drive all the way from San Antonio just to watch your team blow a 19 point lead." The look on this ladies face was classic. I almost felt bad for a second, but then I remembered she was annoying the entire game! ------------------
Well I believe I had the best seat in the house. Those Sprus fans were sitting in section 240 rows L down. I know because I was right behind them on row M. I lost my voice at the end of the night from all the trash talking. In the first half I couldn't talk much trash but they sure where. But when the tables turned... I WAS IN THERE FACE! I wouldn't shut up... It was beautiful. I never talked so much noise in my life. After the game most of the Spurs people were pretty nice. Some shook our hands and said "your guys had a good game" They were never rude... One of the best times I had at a game. ------------------ RAWW Paid for by the Frudy T. It is nice to have mutual respect with a fierce rival. I was at game 5 in SA in 95 and I'd say 30-40% of that place were Rocket fans and it was the same way with the Spurs taking an early lead and flashing Fresh Prince/Robert Horry pictures on the screen. Then, we took the place over and the Spurs fans took it as good as they gave it. I think there was only 1 incident that I remember where an older lady (Spurs fan) clobbered this young Rockets fan with her purse. She must have had a brick in her purse by the way he was bleeding. When we loaded up the bus we saw her getting shoved into a squad car. Other than that, it was a very competitive, yet friendly, atmosphere. We should charter a cc.net bus this year if there is the opportunity to play SA. ------------------ [This message has been edited by B-ball freak (edited March 19, 2001).]
I was at the game!! Got a last minute ticket and got most of the folks in my section to get up and cheer... I was on my feet for every big play and couldn't stand to hear the Spers fans shouting "defense" and "lets go spers"... they were louder than our fans... I was laughing. But WE got the last laugh!! I bet it was a long, lonely ride back to Fat Antonio!! Go ROCKS!!!! rH ------------------ Homecourt will always be 'The Summit' to me!! Until we move downtown!! That game was without a doubt one of the best Rockets games I have ever attended. They must have bused in a couple hundred Spurs fans. I know for a fact that there were at least 60-75 Spurs fans in section 240, because I too was seated directly behind them. It was great, initially they were loud (and somewhat obnoxious), but you should have seen the looks on their faces when the Rockets started making the comeback. Priceless. ------------------
There were a lot of Spurs faithful in the crowd...of course the big section up top...but a lot interspersed throughout the crowd that cheered when the Spurs did well. There werernt any around us...as everyone was screaming for the Rockets. On the way out though...I always make it a point to make sure that every person with an opposing teams colors on...knows just how much their team sucks. Its real fun after Spurs and Lakers games...seems like there are always alot of Laker fans in our house too. ------------------
Did she look good? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Well, I am only 19, she was probably in her early 30's, so shes a little old for me. She had a nice black leather jacket on, if that is your thing. But if I was a older single guy, I would definitely tap it! She was with a guy though. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Franchise2001 (edited March 19, 2001).]
