Damn, this thread had made it all the way down to the bottom of the 5th page..... Anyways, today is my last day of tests, so sorry I didn't get to Bourbon Street Bar yet, but I plan to go there tomorrow and talk to them about our plan. Someday (actually a few ppl) get to Cox and find out whats going on there. It's the 11th game here people. Time to start watching our Rockets drive for a Champhionship!
Hey, I have a question to anybody who has COX and bought NBALP (in College Station). Are you able to watch the Rocket's games? My friend has NBALP on COX and every single Rocket's game this season has been blacked out. What is up with that?! I tried to watch a couple of games over at his house but they were all blacked out! I don't understand this. COX doesn't carry KNWS from houston and they aren't playing Rocket's games on their ch.15 either. I hope they start to carry either of them.
I got a flier from someone on campus today that says there is a "Battle of the Bands" thing going on at Salty Dog tonight. Thought it was interesting, so I called Salty Dog and told them I got the flier about the bands, and also asked if they would be showing the Rockets game as well. He said he expects it to be on. Said it in a way that sounded as if they always have it on. Take it for what it's worth. But a battle of the bands, pool, girls, and Rockets right before we head home for Thanksgiving.....I'm there. Salty Dog.
Meanwhile, here in Beaumont while I have NBA League Pass with DIRECTV I still cannot get ANY Rocket NBA games. Since I have BOTH Warner Cable AND DIRECTV, I am getting a few more games than last year, however, as a few Rocket road games are being broadcast on Warner cable channel 18 in Beaumont due to some type of agreement between the local network here and WARNER cable. So, here I am sympathetic to my Aggie friends in a crisis! Wow! I have it a bit worst, however, since 610 am reception stinks! Can you imagine only newspaper Rocket coverage since 610 took over? 610 am's braodcasting radius must be less than 20 miles. I did find a solution to this, this year; I got NBA Audio League Pass for about $10/month through Real Audio and now get all radio broadcasts for the first time since POWERFUL 610 (ha, ha) took over. One neat thing about this is I get up to date stats. I called DIRECT TV and they blame it all on the Rockets; as I do. IMO the Rockets are screwing there fans until they have their own network and can negotiate their own deals. That's the biggest reason I dropped my season tickets 2years ago (did this for 3 yrs).
I hear ya bro. I also think the Rocket's organization just doesn't give a sh** this year about the fans. They don't want to do anything until next season when they do get their own station. I am really pissed with them. I thought when I moved to College Station from Fort Worth I would be able to see a lot more games. I am still waiting for COX to pick up some rockets games. I agree on how crappy Sports Radio 610 is. It really sucks. I can get the reception fine in my Truck in certain areas in College Station, but around my apartment it is a different story. I can not get it in my apartment, nor in the parking lot area. Oh yeah, Tim where are you? Do you have any info? I am sorry that I am losing my faith in the Rocket's media, I am just finding it so difficult that I am not able to get any answers.
Uprising, For most games, they are broadcasting the game on 1150 The Zone (A.M. Radio). Try there first, then I usually go to Gamecast on ESPN or something.
So was the New Orleans game on Channel 15? I totally forgot to check! I had the Spurs-Magic game on the tv and the chat open to see PBP of the Rockets, and I never checked 15. Does anybody know if they have a schedule of what games will be shown on 15?
Yeah, it was on channel 15. I dont think there's a schedule anywhere. Last season and for the Astros, during the ads that normally run continuously on channel 15, if you keep watching for a while there's a screen where it says 'Sports Listings' and then right after that it listed all the games that'd be on channel 15; but I checked again last night after the game and when that 'Sports Listings' screen comes up, it just skips back into movie advertisements....no schedule -Nick-
Nick, I was looking for that sports listing too, and got the same movie selections come up. I'm sure if we go by Cox, they'll have a list available showing the schedule. The lady said they would.
No kidding. I wish they would have a schedule set to tell us which games they are going to show. I missed the first quarter of last night game because I didn't know they were showing it.
Nick, To get to Cox, go down University to Tarrow Street. (Next to the Hilton). Stay on Tarrow St. (it will curve around).....Cox is about 1 mile down the road on the left. I was told they would have a schedule of the games to be shown once the "negotiations" were over.
Just got back from Cox, and SURPRISE SURPRISE.....Apathy still rules over there. First, the lady had no idea who or what the Houston Rockets were, much less, when they were being shown on ch. 15. They had no schedule available either. In the tv guide, you won't find if the game is on that channel either for that time. It just says, "leased access." Keep watching ch. 15 for the "Sports Listings" and see if they start to show the dates. Or keep calling Cox.
