    Royce White.

Retired very early while the rest are working hard to make ends meet.

To be clear, I'm not saying they're pursuing Melo for the sale price. I'm saying that past a certain cost level, in terms of the package the Knicks are demanding, trading for Melo becomes dubious as a net gain on the court. But it remains attractive from the point of view of national prestige, TV, etc., and increasing the value of the team as an asset. That's the gray area where I worry about front office calculations being influenced on the margins.

Well, one thing is for certain if this is true. That would make Les Alexander a terrible owner to force Morey to make a blockbuster trade that Morey and MDA are against.

It's not happening. If the front office were being forced to do something it would have happened. No need to create extra drama on the situation

That's not reasonable. If his current focus was winning and banana boating, with no regard for $$, then he'd accept a low buyout now to get to a contender with one of his friends. But he's leaked that he won't accept a buyout, which means he wants his $$, which is consistent with his prior history. And if it were just about winning then he would be open to going to more teams, as Hou and Cle aren't the only teams he could win on.

What is reasonable is to assume that a player that has put an emphasis on getting all his money in the past, that refused to accept a buy out last year, that has leaked that he won't take one now....cares about his money and likely won't opt out of money no one will give him next year.

Wtf are you talking about he's refused? It's called Google, use it.

Also, last contract he signed was not the max he could receive bc he wanted to allow Knicks some flexibility for FAs. So, no, his past has exhibited his ability to think of money as a secondary driver.

I don't see Melo being a Knick next season. He may not be a Rocket, but I would he won't be a Knick.

Ariza, Capela, Anderson for Marjanovic and Anthony.
Marjanovic finished 3rd in player efficiency rating in 2015--2016---PER 27.77
Marjanovic finished 4th in player efficiency rating in 2016--2017--PRE 29.70

What's dumb is not giving a guy with great numbers a bigger role to see how good he can be. The whole league is stupid for not giving Marjanovic a chance to start.

    2016--2017
    1 Jarnell Stokes, 31.53
    2 Demetrius Jackson, 30.87
    3 Russell Westbrook, 30.70
    4 Boban Marjanovic, 29.70
    5 Kevin Durant, 27.68
    6 Kawhi Leonard, 27.62
    7 Anthony Davis, 27.59
    8 James Harden, 27.43
    9 LeBron James, 27.11
    10 Isaiah Thomas, 26.59

    2015--2016
    1 Stephen Curry, 31.56
    2 Kevin Durant, 28.25
    3 Boban Marjanovic, 27.77
    4 Russell Westbrook, 27.64
    5. LeBron James, 27.64
    6 Chris Paul, 26.31
    7 Kawhi Leonard, 26.11
    8 Hassan Whiteside, 25.69
    9 James Harden, 25.36
    10 Anthony Davis, 25.10

Here's the trade again. It gives up strength from SF in the hopes of bolstering PF and C. It's high risk, but with a possible high gain. I don't Houston ever getting close to a championship with Capela at center.

Detroit has a lot of bad contracts and need a power forward. Anderson and Capella could both fit there. I personally don't like Capella's game and think Boban should be a starter in this league. This works on ESPN Trade Machine. It gets New York a point guard that might rebound from last year's bad performance.

Houston gets Carmelo Anthony and Boban Marjanovic
Detroit gets Ryan Anderson, Clint Capela, and Isaiah Taylor.
New York gets Reggie Jackson and Trevor Ariza.

Ariza is going to warrant more money than Houston can afford next year, and Houston already has PJ Tucker and Tory Williams at the small forward. They could also bring in Chris Johnson who played really well in summer league.

Marjanovic can score and protect the rim. He's a true center.

The longer this drags on, the worse I feel about it actually happening.

I like Boban, but you don't trade a 23 years old guy like Capela (who's playing well and has still upside) for a 29 years old guy who had a couple of years as a bench player in the nba, sorry.

    Wow.

Facts: Capela IS a starter in this league, no matter what you think of his game. He's younger than Boban, far more agile, and has accomplished so much more in the league. Boban is a 5 and 3 guy who saw his minutes DECREASE after leaving the Spurs for the Pistons.

This is the same backwards logic used by Jeremy Lin's crazy ass fans. It's up to the players to seize more playing time and NOT up to teams to give it.
