He wasn't a U.S president. He was the world's president, putting people first with his nobility, and that rubbed some the wrong way. The only president to visit the tomb of Arch bishop romero in central america, not even the so called christian right ever did that. He managed to progress relations with Cuba something others never accomplished. I never thought I'd see a minority as president and a latin american pope with liberation theology leanings. He had his flaws and he acknowledged them. America was already great without having to go back to 1860.
