he hasnt been released he is just inactive he can't be traded until the season is over TB will make him sit out the rest of the season and then trade him
According to ESPN, Keyshawn said "Tell everyone I'm in New York looking for apartments." Keyshawn back to the Jets? Stranger things have happened, I guess...
whatever KJ's actions during the season have been, they must of really pissed someone off for them to sit out their top WR for the last 6 games... here is what KJ has to say.. http://nfl.com/fantasyextra/index.html "From what I understand the team has deactivated me for the remainder of the season and they are going to pay me the remainder of my salary," said Johnson. Johnson, who had just gotten off a plane when reached in an airport, still was unsure as to why the Buccaneers decided to make this move. "I don't know much other than that because I'm traveling right now and I just had a brief conversation with the general manager (Rich McKay) and a brief conversation with my agent." So what's next for Johnson? "I'm going about it as it comes and I'm looking forward to working out and continuing to stay healthy and look and see what happens next year. I don't know what's going to happen but I just want to be a part of a football team that I could give my services to." The Bucs cannot release Johnson because they would take an immediate $7 million cap hit and they're currently just $3.95 million under the cap, so releasing him would put them $3.05 million over the cap.
here is more.. “Keyshawn has made it very clear to us that he has no intention of wanting to remain as a Buccaneer beyond the 2003 season, and this approach and his actions are having a negative affect on our football team,” said Buccaneers General Manager Rich McKay. “Like every team in the NFL, we are focused on winning football games. From a players’ perspective, from a coaches’ perspective, from an organizational perspective, this situation has become a distraction. This was an organizational decision in the best interest of winning. “In talking with Jerome Stanley (Keyshawn Johnson’s agent) and Keyshawn, we agreed that it will not be necessary for him to be present at our facility for the remainder of the year.” http://www.buccaneers.com/news/newsdetail.aspx?newsid=3497
Nah, try Terrell Owens. There is not enough ego space to go around in TB, between Gruden and Sapp, Keyshawn got the squeeze. Now he has more time for Serena!
Not only is he the most overrated WR, he's probably the most overrated player. He's only so well-known because he opens his big mouth so much. AB, I don't really see Owens as overrated. He's just as big-mouthed and obnoxious as Keyshawn, but his play backs it up.
Both have 8 years experience T.O. 568 Rec 8261 yds 77 TD 14.5 avg K.J. 603 Rec 7936 yds 48 TD 13.2 avg
It would be intresting if Keyshawn Johnson came here. But i doubt the Texans organization would want somebody of Keryshawns type. Johnson and Johnson duo.
You should post their numbers from the last four years. Those stats actually make a further case for Owens who was in Rice's shadow when he started and wasn't featured till the year before Rice left. Keshawn has been featured from day one and Owens almost doubles his TD totals. Its really not even close.
I actually like KJ...He has a big mouth, but has been able to back it up...I think he's going to Dallas next year, but may end up in Jacksonville...
sorry, just to add to that, T.O. took out two defenders at the end of a Barlow TD run. I can't stand his attitude, which ultimately hurts his team, but he is one of the best players in the NFL taking into account the total package.
totally agree, he drops balls, and both of their attitudes will keep me from rooting for them. But he is light years ahead of Keyshawn, IMHO
Wow, I thought the yardage difference would be greater. I figured total receptions would be close. The touch downs say it all though.
