Isnt Euron actually badass in the books ? I think , hopefully, the show can give us a littler more insight as to why he can kick so much ass . Right now , they are just leaving it to us to assume he has time travel magic.
My criticism of your Black Sails citation is that yes, stealth does work in historic naval battles, but not in the context of the scene as it played out. I specifically said that. As for the storm I see lightning in the clouds, rain, winds. Ships pulled down their sails during storms unless they wanted to wreck themselves. And that Stannis attack didn't make for great tv, it was horribly depicted on the show. And despite that I dont know why you cant understand that one, the Wildlings had no concept of an armed cavalry charge, two, probably had no scouts in the east because they were worried about whats to the north and south, and three, even if they did get word of it beforehand they A) Wouldn't have known what to do B) Wouldn't have time to do it anyways.
No, all he does is **** his harem, do some drugs, and mind **** his relatives. It's Victarion his brother thats the badass in the books. The show just took Euron and Victarion and compressed them into Show Euron.
Kinda bummed to think that Bron will be fighting for the Lannisters. His character could use some more scenes... Oh well, bye bye Tyrells and Dorne.
I'm gonna give the show a major benefit of the doubt, and think that Euron's fleet separated after initial meeting with Cersei and Euron's half attacked Yara's fleet while the other half circled around to CR. They never showed Euron himself with his ships at CR.
So much for making an alcoholic politician your military strategist. Now will she to listen to the Knight who is in love with her, and a King who wants her dragon ass ... 'er I mean dragon glass.
I agree, this is the best counter I can think of. Having said that, Euron's iconic ship WAS shown in the attack. No guarantee that he was actually on it. That begs the question, why not? Seems rather...convenient Spoiler: image of attack
Has nobody else considered the fact that Meera has probably had to wipe Bran's butt for the past year or so? 7 hells she looks aged..
Anyone else think Varys' imminent death has been foreshadowed. And Tyrion rides a dragon into battle. seems Dany is going to lose her mind over gross negligence of Tyrion and also re-question whether Varys is a spy ... true or not. At least banished them from her inner circle. She can't take their advice anymore. She no longer needs it with her White Knight returning and Jon Snow ... I don't think she'll be saying "You know nothing, Jon Snow." but, there is an outside chance Tyrion learns to ride a dragon, to prove his worth again ... that would be pretty cool. Since they all just agreed it's too dangerous for Dany to do it anymore.
Guess.....u do realize they are leaving how much time that has passed vague. The last 2 episode took place over weeks, possibly a month or 2.
One other point to consider: Day 0: Euron triumphantly returns to King's Landing. Cersei and Jamie bang Day 1: Rep for Iron Bank of Braavos meets with Cersei in King's Landing. Cersei promises that the debt will be repaid in a fortnight (2 weeks). 2 weeks later Day 15: Jamie successfully raids Highgarden and its gold. Eurons armada shows up at Casterly Rock This timeline makes sense, but it still doesn't explain why the Unsullied took so long to reach Casterly Rock Also, in his conversation with Olenna, Jamie explicitly says "we emptied the larders before we left" in reference to Casterly Rock. Thus, he likely arrived with Euron's fleet to Casterly Rock and left for Highgarden before the Unsullied arrive. Maybe the Unsullied are just poor sailors and totally missed Euron's fleet passing them up
They did actually, the ship zoomed in on euron big black ship and Jamie said specifically that euron burned the unsullied fleet
I don't think so. I think after he spoke with the red priestess (not Melisandre) last season, she convinced him that Daenerys was the chosen one. Varys isn't one to believe in religion though, especially after what happened with Stannis, so you might be right.
No Arya this episode. Hopefully she can make it to Winterfell and meet with Bran and Sansa before sh*t goes down.
