me and some friends went bar hopping in downtown, after watching the rockets kick the spurs ass later that night, i see kenny thomas walk by us, I say to him, "hey kenny great game tonight" he looks at me and walks off without saying anything that dude seems freaking snobby as hell
you'd think after a great game like this, he'd be in the mood to acknowledge you... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
I have heard he is like this to a lot of people. ------------------ Animals have rights...One of them is the right to taste good.
He was nice enough to give me his autograph and I also shaked his hand.Itold him he looked like the lead singer from the R&B group"Next".He laughed in a nice way. ------------------ At guard 6'3 from Maryland number 3 Steve Francis!!!!
Why in the hell is he walking with his damn nose in the air? If Francis and Mobley are friendly he shouldn't even think twice to think he is better than other people. What a jerk. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Maybe Kenny didn't hear you correctly... that's the only explanation I have for his behavior. It's very strange that he didn't even say "Thanks" after you complimented him. ------------------ PrEsident of The Danforth Langhford FAN CLUB... He IS our future All-Star Small Forward
IF it was him, maybe he thought you were being sarcastic. He didn't have a great game, he had a solid game, but he might have thought you were being rude in some way. ------------------
My boy Larry Hughes spoke to me after the Rockets lost to Golden State in December. Nice guy and great player ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
it either wasnt kenny thomas or he thought you were being sarcastic. i doubt he would be rude like that. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com "crazy like a fox" mgh 1925-2001 [This message has been edited by dc rock (edited March 18, 2001).]
After the New Jersey game Kenny was the only player that stoped on the way out of the parking lot.He was also the only player give us his autograph. Steve just waived hi.Calvin also stopped. The Nets just ignored us. They were too busy hearing their headphones. They could at least waive hi.Mo Taylor also gave me his autograph but, it was before the game during shoot around. ------------------ At guard 6'3 from Maryland number 3 Steve Francis!!!!
At the Utah game, Kenny seemed a little stand-offish, but he DID sign autographs from anybody who asked him to (including myself). I can totally understand a guy not wanting to do it and therefore not really "excited" to do it, but as long as he DOES it without being an ass I have NO problem with them. Can't understand why he wouldn't even say "thanks" after a game like last night's though...are you SURE it was him? ------------------ Jazzkiller
maybe Captain Conundrum was still debating the eternal question: missed layup or attempt a dunk? missed layup or attempt a dunk? missed layup or attempt a dunk?
no, im sure it was kenny thomas.. eveyone with me recognized him at once first cuz he was about twice the height of eveyone around him, and some of the girls with him gave me a friendly smile after i said it..acknowledging they heard me. i understand it must suck to be a celebrity and everyone coming up to you and asking for autographs and stuff, however all i said was good game tonight.. maybe he was having a bad night, i dunno.. ------------------
hmm thats funny because kenny did stop after the game and signed for some people. he seemed in a good mood then... ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Are u sure that was Kenny Thomas? I don't understand why he would brush you off like that. He could at least acknowledge you. I had a similar experience with Moochie Norris at a game. He was walking out of the tunnel looking straight ahead. I yelled out to him, but he didn't turn his head...just kept on walking. No smile, no wave, and no autograph. Actually the only Rocket signing was Steve Francis. I now realize that he was focusing on the game about to tip in 15 min so its all good. I don't begrudge any sports celebrity for not always acknowledging fans. Can you imagine being a Rocket, and having to say hello to every fan you meet? That would become annoying as hell! I think these guys must love to walk around and pretend they are nobody special some of the time- like Jason Collier (?). ------------------ Bob Rainey is my hero!
Actually, about 2 months ago, i saw KT at Treasures. He seemed very friendly and open to conversation. I shook his hand and wished him luck for the rest of the season. ------------------
i understand it must suck to be a celebrity and everyone coming up to you and asking for autographs and stuff, That is such BS. For pete's sake.. The guy is a freakin' millionaire playing the greatest game in the world on the best team in the NBA! He has everything going for him. It's his m**herf**king duty to at least be civil to the fans that wish they were him. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
When the rocket had the open practice... I was in line to get an autograph from Kenny. In order the get the autograph you had to have this colored piece of paper. (the color determined which line you had to stand in to get autographs.) This one lady was in front of me and she didn't have her paper. The little security guard told the lady she couldn't get an autograph with out the paper. Kenny was like, "just let her through" I thought he was pretty cool for doing that. Steve was sitting next to Kenny and Steve gave me an autograph and I wasn't in his line. I don't know why he just walked away like that after you complimented him on the game. I think athletes are just fickle like that. One day it's all good and they don't mind autograph's, other days they act like they don't want anyone to bother them. I heard so many stories from my friends who have ran in to players like Gary Payton, Bo Outlaw, Charles Barkley, Robert Horry (tried to take my sister home!) Nick Van Exel... Some were cool with there fans and some were not. ------------------ RAWW Paid for by the Frudy T. Gin and Juice Daquari Factory.
