So I just got this game a couple days ago. I had been watching videos for it for a couple months and finally decided to take the plunge and play it. It's refreshing! Battle Royale style shooter, 100 players, giant map, be the last one alive to win! I suck at it of course, but it's still fun and you don't have to stay in match once you die. It's honestly a nice little game. Anyone else playing? Anyone trying to squad up or run duos?
I've played it some, although I suck horribly at using KB+M so I'm pretty terrible too. I love the concept though - drop everyone on an island with no weapons or equipment and have at it. It'll be nice when they come out with more maps for it, the desert map that's in development looks pretty cool and it's coming out on Xbox One later this year for anyone who prefers console over PC. My only problem is that it looks like the game's becoming a victim of its own success already as the developers are capitalizing on its popularity and going the route of CS:GO by nickel and diming players for purely cosmetic items like clothing. They just announced that this'll be the case once it's out of early access and there's been a lot of outrage at this, and for good reason.
I hooked up my xbox one controller and found a layout on steam communities. Works pretty decent, althought a bit clunky because not enough inputs.
You guys are using controllers on pubg? let me know when you're on haha, not serious since random match/servers but... Gotta get used to kb+m for those insane distance shots, I've had a few I could have never done on a controller. Don't get me wrong I like controllers just not on fps's, and especially not if everyone else is using kb+m. Anyway.. solo or duos seems easier to win, squads of 3/4 in squad play are a bit harder even if you're all using discord. Just gets insane at the end there. It's almost best to avoid anyone till the end, because as soon as you give position away it can get crazy fast
Careful running squads. No official in game report system so I've been teamkilled for my gear sometimes lol.
Haven't tried this game yet but was planning on picking it up soon. Still playing 7 days to Die alpha 16 with some friends, we're having a blast with it.
Yeah, that's only way to play this game, huge disadvantage when someone is using a mouse at a crazy distance with 8x scope. Only way I guess w/ controller is if you hid in a house and were lucky to be in final spot and just spray and pray on auto... Especially if you're on first person only server (if that's out yet). Not to keep harping on this, but probably a good and quick way to improve mouse skills is to play that free Quake that's out, it's all pvp and you can respawn quick. Pubg a lot of time spent looking/looting/moving vs action so might take longer to improve.
If you play any other FPS games make sure your mouse sensitivity is roughly the same on all of them so your aim can translate over.
I really like this game, but I'm getting a little bored with the cadence. There is a basic flowchart to almost every match now...mad scramble and shoot out in the first two minutes while trying to loot...run or drive for 4-5 minutes of relative peace. Sniper Battle!! Crawl around and play hide and seek in the last 2 minutes. I know there is some variation, and you can choose to play in different styles, but almost every match begins to have the same pattern.
First couple of times I played was intense. Almost gave me an adrenaline rush. The intensity has kind have worn off though. Will give this game another chance soon. To get a chance at chicken dinners you need to do a lot of camping, which isn't too much fun unless you can lock down an area with your squad. I also need to get faster at looting.
I've played a few rounds on my phone with the new mobile version -- pretty fun -- the controls are wonky, but that's to be expected.
I thought I was the **** or this was easier than rules of survival. It turns out they were bots. You play bots to level up.
