    Two way contracts are frequent in hockey, and presumably baseball, which are both sports with developed minor-league systems.

    It changes the structure of a player's salary depending on how much time is spent on the big club versus the farm club. For a general example, the contract might say a guy gets paid $2M if he plays 82 games in the NBA, or $400K if he plays 82 games in the D League. If it's a mix, it's pro-rated.

    It lets teams sign fringe guys who pique their interest without paying too much, and it gives the player a pipe-dream.

    It's pretty new in the NBA, so I imagine a lot of fans aren't very familiar with it. The NBA also isn't very good at minor league stuff.

    Max a two way player can make is like 279k if he is with the Rockets max of 45 days. Rest of time just be with RGV. As the 5th PG this wonder what this means for Taylor.
