At 1:45:14, Greg Gumbel says the Rockets overcame a 3-1 series lead by the Suns the previous year, and I've seen that referenced in numerous other places on the internet. This isn't true. It was 2-0 Suns, then the Rockets won three in a row. Is Gumbel to blame for this spread of this lie across the internet?
It was perhaps the most remarkable thing to happen in basketball outside of Jordan. If the bulls had made the finals and the rockets went on the win which I believed they would have... It would have been the greatest finals in sports history
You're wrong in multiple ways. Harden is lucid and if anything he's the pimp. You're just one of his hoes giving him your money. Over and over again. The dude will bring us a chip of his trophy and you'll be like, 'I'll do anything for you James'. @RasaqBoi = James Harden's w**** just like the rest of us. At least our pimp ain't Westbrook. Nobody wins when Westbrook is your pimp. Dude just pimps clubs without long term benefit. Dean Tinman might be rough around the edges in your opinion but his message is clear. He doesn't care if you know the history, he expects you to know it. We're part of the greatest fan forum in the history of forums because of two people: Hakeem and David Hardisty. Anyone in the know that thinks otherwise is a false profit.
That's ****ed up man... I posted this 8:00 last night. bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/throwbackthursday.284464/ Delete this thread or merge to mine
A friend and myself went to game four of the finals. We got there an hour and a half early and had nosebleed seats but we were there. Some of the celebrities we saw there Danny Glover, Ronnie Lott and David Keith. We watched Shaq warming up shooting free throws and making a consistent number of them. The best part for me was The Dream making the 3 pointer at the end. With all the great players that have played for Houston sports franchises it is amazing to understand just how awesome Olajuwon was.
You are criminally under appreciated bro. 1st I accidentally left you out of the top 10 clutchfans tier list and now someone plagiarized your thread without giving you any credit. Should rockets13champs retire from clutchfans at age 27?
The last 3 minutes of that game lasted an eternity. As I recall, that game immediately followed the game that Reggie Miller took over in NY, forcing and winning in OT. It pushed back the start time of the Rockets / Jazz game. I nearly chewed my fingers off watching the last half of that 4th quarter. So tense. What a gritty team.
It was an amazing time to be a Rockets fan, and how it united the city was unreal. Still have goosebumps!
One of my fondest memories is my step-father who is the biggest Rocket fan I ever knew was still alive to see the Rockets win the big one twice in a row. I use to go over to his house every game night throughout the season to watch every game with him. He loved the rockets dearly. He died a week after the last championship at 79. But I remember how thrilled he was, now I am the same age and hoping to see them win again!
I'm a native Houstonian and have followed the Rockets since they moved here from San Diego. Went to Rockets games before the original arena was built, both at the Astro Arena and U. of H. Still have both championship tee shirts, news paper championship editions and a piece of the old arena floor. Rockets forever.
They were played on the same day for sure(checked the stats but it doesn't say the hour). I have a similar memory and I'm thinking you're exactly right because why else would I have watched every second of that Pacers series?
