    told you so.

"seaching for satellite signal" message bit you butt, eh? today was one of those really, REALLY bad storms... so maybe it was a fluke.

there's some kind of setting or something that you can change on it (not sure where it is now that i have cable), but plenty of people here have it so i'm sure they'll tell you.

I only have that problem when it is really coming down hard. At least you don't have to scrape the snow off your dish on Sundays like I do up in Michigan.

I don't think the problems with last night's game were DirecTV's fault. It was clear at my house and the picture started to fade in and out a little. I assumed it was a problem with Ch. 51 in Houston.

My area of town really got pounded yesterday and last night. My satellite signal only went out, for a sec or two, about 2-3 times. Funny though, that my cable internet went out much more often.

Rain affecting satellite signals is a very really occurent, yet, I feel its overrated. If you have a good installer, who not only points your dish in the right direction, but will also "fine tune" the positining, then these weather problems are no more frequent than cable problems IMO.

I almost lost out to the 2nd overtime against the Raptors game. Those Directv bastards couldn't pick up the KNWS feed. It's just the bad weather, but so far it's been ok...

why does cable do that too.

i recently upgraded to digital cable, and some channels say something like waiting for a signal.

    why does it do that?

because they get their feed from a satellite as well, they just pump it through a cable to get to you...

with satellite tv, they just eliminate the cable company.
