Opted for the MB Pro instead. Going into school, I wanted to go with a familiar product, but will very seriously consider the SP 5.

Any verdict of which one is better: Surface Pro or Surface book? The pro is lighter (though not much with keyboard), any performance compromises?

I've been on mbp for 6 years now and I haven't looked back. 5+hr productive battery life, TouchPad and screen makes things real convenient. The experience is so different on another machine so much that you'd willingly pay more.

The only reason I'd boot up windows is for pretty games, and that moves things out of tablet/integrated graphics territory.

Apple dropped the ball this generation, so it's good MS picked up the slack on innovation. But not enough to force me to use windows again.
