If a few lines about a freaking BASKETBALL team can make you nauseous, it's time to evaluate where your life is at, boss. I like the Rockets too, but if they don't win tonight I'll say "Ding dangit" and change the channel. I'll have a ciggarette. Maybe I'll eat some chee-toes. But I won't get red in the face or sick to my stomach and I won't rush online to cry about it here. If watching the Rockets isn't fun for you, you need to stop watching the Rockets. Period. If following a sports team brings more negativity into your life than positivity, why are you doing it? There's no point. It's just a game on television.
It was 7 years ago during the 1996-1997 season that the Rockets began the season at 21-2. This was the last time the Rockets were really serious contenders. Looking back, I remember listening to the radio call-in shows, and you'de think they were 2-21. To a good portion of the fans, nothing was going right. Barkley didn't complement Hakeem. Drexler was washed up. Matt Maloney was the worst point guard in the NBA. The offense was boring. They were unarguably the 2nd best team in the league (MJ's Bulls won 72 that same year) but to some of the fans they couldn't do anything right. The lesson to be learned from this story? Some people will think things are at their worst no matter what the circumstance. It's only a small faction, but it's these that tend to voice their opinion more frequently and louder than others. Things are never as bad as they may seem or how some might make them out to be. The Rockets are 6-3. Only two teams in the entire Western Conference have a sub-.500 record. The world is not coming to an end. Do the guards play selfishly at times? Yes. Does this mean we should trade them? No. Does Yao play soft at times? Yes. Does this mean we should trade him? No.
With all due respect, using your first post to bash the BBS probably isn't the best way to get started. Granted, your opinion is valid, but coming out of hiding to criticize isn't exactly great form.
Optimist is right...we are a bunch of bad boys and girls that are mean to our basketball team and he's had enough of our antics. So instead of simply not coming here anymore, he decided to get more involved and tell us what a bad attitude we all have here and how disappointed he is in us.
