I'm in the minority on this, but I dug the sleeved uniforms. My favorite uniforms were the gray sleeves, the all black and then the sleeved clutch city. I've got no problem with the gray uniforms. Honestly my least favorite uniforms are the red ones. I just don't think the color tone with big, bright white accents is all that pleasing to the eye.
I like the grey (or silver) as our secondary colour, but not as an actual main uniform colour. I think it highlights better than the mustard, which just makes me think McDonald's. Mustard sucked, but the connection to our championships makes it a favourite. I'd be happy with a rebrand that goes back to the championship brand, but change the mustard to grey.
Ideally to fix these uniforms if the rockets had the checkerboards like the gray and black uniforms have instead of the arrows on the side it would look a lot nicer
It is hard to convice the mob. Every year this topic comes up. New Logo! There is nothing wrong with a little consistency from generation to generation. It's pretty neat seeing old black-and-white footage of a Cubs or Yankees player sporting the same simple logo. Our current logo is similar and has a timeless quality. As far as unis, I guess that could change with the times. Short shorts, baggy shorts, spandex, tanktop, t-shirt, etc...
Ironically Nike has made the armpits bigger, so the Rockets jersey should be perfect the way it was minus the broad shoulder.
Those shorts are incorrect. The waistband was white, not yellow. But, yes. Refine that set and modernize it a bit and call it a lifetime. You can save all the cool and hip and modern crap for alternate sets. Just leave the white and away primary and logo as the classic look.
Old Numbers numbers since 2010 (copied from Pacers) I feel like I'm the only one who hates that we just took a font from a different team, i want to be unique
As long as the jerseys and brand looks the way it does, I think there are more issues than the numbers.
But if they're gonna stick with this look, at least be consistent in all elements of the uniform. I just don't understand why they don't go back to the old numbers (or why they switched at all). My guess is the new rev30 material in 2010 wasn't compatible with the old numbers so they had to do a last minute switch to get the uniforms made in time for the season. Being short on time they took numbers from a team that already existed (pacers). Instead of working on a fix to get the old numbers back, internally the Rockets have just completely forgotten about this or not cared enough to fix it... which drives me crazy haha
A lot of people have spoken about it, but yeah nobody really seems to care. To me, it's one of those things that just bugs the crap out of me. I hate it so badly. It's just stupid!!! Why the **** have something that doesn't match. Same with the new black jersey! People might hate our current jersey design, but I'll take the ones with the broad shoulders from 03-09 and shiny material over any of the current **** we have.
