I am perfectly ok with these 4 purchasing the Rockets. 3 Hall of Famers who will be majority owners (33% each) and the PR guy (1%)
I feel there needs to be a master "will not try to purchase Rockets" thread. For the record, I won't be purchasing the Rockets either
All those dudes' entire career earnings before tax doesn't even add up to 25% of what the Rockets will go for.
Realistically, the only 3-4 players who could pool their money together and buy an nba team after they retire are lebron, durant, harden, curry and maybe westbrook if he gets a major shoe deal. It would be a small to medium nba team and under the assuption that they managed their money right. Jordan already got his.
http://www.therichest.com/sports-entertainment/the-15-richest-nba-players-ever/ I question the accuracy of this article as Matt Maloney is not on the list...
Yao would have been a great front guy for Chinese investors, but can't blame him to choose his political career.
Yao is preoccupied with his position of CBA President and President of Basketball Operations of the whole country....... he has to resign from that...... too much to ask. And he is owner of the Sharks of Shanghai. What Yao could do is recommend the Rockets to his Billionaire friends......
