Watching the highlights, I caught this. This is the first time I've heard them admit what we all knew for so long.

It has been stated more than once by national media and coaches. As a matter of fact, a thread was started a while back that took exception to the inclusion of the adjective "young".

This goes to show to everybody who kept saying "Francis is more mature", "Francis is the LEADER!", if you want a 23 year old guard as the team leader you're going to struggle. That's why Francis AND Mobley are going to have to share the leadership role for this team to be successful. How many teams have two superstars in the backcourt? To want Francis as "the leader" is asking for trouble. The guy has only played a year and a half of pro basketball!

Milwaukee may still have a slight edge. But the Mobley and Francis are by far the most entertaining backcourt in the league I just think Cassell/Allen make less mistakes.

Which espn announcer said it ?

I wouldn't call Milwaukee's backcourt young. Allen has been in the league for about 5 years, and Cassell is almost 30.

TheCat, also Cassell demands the ball alot more then Steve and openly whined about the attention Big Dog and Ray were getting.

Well in that case its even because Francis is better than Cassell and Allen is better than Cat.

I was referring to their age, not their ability.

if the question was asked, Would you trade mobley and francis for cassell and allen?, i would say no, not because the future is better for steve and cat (even though it is) but because i think they can dominate games better than allen and cassell.

Not really... gotta think of the gap between. A better way to look at it is through the stars, 1st tier and then 2nd. Would I rather have Francis than Allen? Absolutely. Would I rather have Cuttino than Sam? Absolutely.

When you add Moochie, Shandon, and Colson to the equation as just your spare parts for your two man super combo, WE HAVE the best backcourt in the NBA, Period.

Ways you know you have the best backcourt.
    1. All 4 people in the backcourt are capable of 30 points any night

    2. All you backcourt people average like 5 boards a night

    3. Your backcourt twins can beat the twin towers.

    4. You don't even need an inside prescense offensively to be 1/2 game out of the WESTERN conference playoffs....

    thats it man
    can't beat that

Yea, not just the best young guards, but the best guards regardless of age in the game right now. They just happen to be young [IMG].

I'd take ours over that of the Bucks in a heartbeat. Cassell is good, and has pretty good numbers, but his clubhouse attitude and constant whining for more money can bring a team's chemistry down. Not what you need from a floor leader. And plus, if the true way to judge players/teams is head to head, Steve and Cat have dominated Cassell and Allen both times they played-- not just by the stats but the more important category-- leading your team to a win. They aren't just the best young backcourt duo in the NBA. They are the best backcourt in the NBA. Period.
