Went really well. The inspection passed and my water pressure is a lot better. I'm all PEX now, with the exception of the service line running from the meter to the house which is still galvanized. They were asking for an additional $1,200 to replace that which I decided to skip for now.

It's a pretty big difference at my house as well. The water pressure from my hot water line is way better. My handyman said that the galvanized steel pipes at my house were a ticking time bomb. I'm glad I changed them before any real damage was done. I had a major hard water issue before also. I'm going to test out the water to see if this makes any difference. If not, I think I'll look into a water softening system.

After a couple of years are you guys still satisfied with the work? How about the difference between steel/copper and PEX?

Rust is coming from the faucets at my house so it may be time to get the pipes looked at.

haven't had any issues since. I'm not sure why one would chose copper over pex. Copper is going to be more expensive and you are going to have more drywall to repair more than likely. The biggest benefit of copper would be life expectancy but pex should last you 30 years so, which seems plenty to me.

Might just be the hot water heater. Check the age on that first. If it's over 10 years old it's probably time to change it out.
