Let's have a team full of players that HATE the Warriors.

    Melo opt out.
    Paul doesn't extend.
    Lebron FA.

Ariza off the books, renounce capella, pop off EGs contract. Cap rises as well.

If everyone takes an even piece of the pie, they all could still get 20+ a year and for a monster team.

Would still have nene and tucker as well. And this would almost assuredly leave Ariza to resign for vet min.

You couldn't create cap space for lebron. If those guys opt out it doesn't create cap space unless we renounced their bird rights.

Only way to get lebron at more than mle is sign and trade

With Paul, Melo (and Ariza's) bird rights, both could take large 1 year pay cuts next offseason that would open up enough cap space to offer Lebron James his max. Then in 2019, the Rockets could re-sign Paul/Melo (using their bird right's) to gigantic super max contracts (could also do the same with Ariza and offer him an overpay).

So it's possible, everybody would get their money. Paul and Melo might have to take extreme 1 year pay cuts, but we could offer both around 40 mill per on average until their 38 to make up for it.

    Harden: 30.5 million
    Gordon: 13.5
    Nene: 3.5
    Capela: 3.5 cap hold?

    8 minimum cap holds: 8?

With a $101 million salary cap gives the banana boat only ~$41 (~$54 without Gordon) million to split. Those are massive paycuts.

    Paul/Harden
    Harden/Gordon
    Lebron/Ariza (room exception)
    Melo/Ariza
    Capela/Nene

    Great team though.

I dont want Lebron. If ur truly a top 5 goat you dont need 2 change teams every few years. Let him go elsewhere

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together. At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”

Maybe at the end of their careers, James said. Maybe sooner. One more ring chase, this time with everyone on board.

“It would be pretty cool,” James said. “I’ve definitely had thoughts about it.”

So if LeBron said he wanted to play here and you were the GM you would tell him to look elsewhere?

That's a good way to cripple your franchise and ensure no star player ever looks our way ever again.

If we got Melo and Bron, we would only need six players. Four starters and two guys coming off the bench.

It would definitely cheapen the value of the title. Wouldn't feel as much as a rockets title more of just a we happened to be the place they chose to win one.

I'd still take it but I'd prefer to win without him
