Is Patrick Patterson the new Paul Millsap?

Don't think OKC's offseason tops the Rockets or the Timberwolves.

Of course, none of this screams, "Keep Melo," but maybe the brakes were applied to any trade so that they could write this prelude to the novel.

Before everyone goes crazy over the no buyout quote, a reminder: While it's certainly news, it's not like the Knicks can say anything else. If they say "maybe, possibly," then there's no incentive for the Rockets to work on improving a trade package. They'd just wait for the buyout, and add Carmelo on top of Ryan Anderson and the guys already in place.

Posturing. Either we sweeten the deal some or we don't get Melo. I thought we could stay firm but that's not looking likely.

I'm fine with a Gordon-Lee (w Gordon going to a third/fourth team) swap if that's what it comes down to. Morey needs to "up the risk factor."

A buyout is highly unlikely in any scenario before February. Regardless, Carmelo holds all the leverage... I highly doubt, given they want to establish a better culture, that they would hold Carmelo hostage against his will.

All along I've wanted to know who/what goes out before extolling CMA coming in.

It gets awkward everytime a Melo question comes up.

This is gonna drag on for weeks. Sounds like they'd rather just keep him then trade him for whatever we're offering.

    I like the last quote.

It just shows Melo is holding strong and wants out.

I think the trade will happen fairly soon.

You can't rebuild with Melo on the roster.
