His trade destinations have and will always be

    1. Chris Paul's team
    2. LeBron James' team
    3. Spurs

Cavs wont make the move they need to, Spurs dont make sense with Rudy being there now at 1/3 the price.

Rockets are it, he has everything he needs.

More like the power outage during the superbowl in 2013.... or at the very least its like we rushed it up the middle on 4th and goal, it appeared that we crossed the plane in the endzone, but the opposing team challenged and now the refs are reviewing the replay.

so you let him play a pointless year instead of getting harkless, another asset and a first round pick? why would anyone do that? it is the knicks but have some common sense, melo will be a rocket or cav before the season period!! (most likely a rocket)

I will respect your "last insightful post" and if you respond to me, thank you, but if not (and no hard feelings) anyone else reading please inform me the answer to my inquiry:

How can a player that's disgruntled force himself to a team?

I remember Dwight and Orlando but I don't remember Dwight personally playing bad or anything like that. He had a weird interview with SVG and I'm guessing a lot was happening behind the scenes. I've always heard Melo forced his way to New York, I dont know the history though and whether or not he was disgruntled.

I just don't understand what the player specifically does to force a trade.

He can decline any trade he doesent like and he has already stated he will only accept trades to cleveland and houston.
If cleveland dont trade Love they wont get melo , if they do it would be already done.
So logically it seems we are the only destination that makes sense, hence the 3 and 4 team trade reports. To me it looks like Morey complied with what NYK asked and got teams to accept whatever NYK wanted and now they have backed off. **** organization and i hope they get burned by this

Didn't a report just come out last week saying that the Knicks can't envision a scenario where Melo is sharing the floor with Tim Hardaway Jr.?

BREAKING: Melo falls in love with new GM.

Decides love is more important than finishing his career competing next to beard and cp3.

Lol we'll see what the knicks do. I have confidence that melo will force their hand and say "wtf, lemme go to houston or ima be pissed and we're gonna have a lame season"

After that it's on the knicks to see what they want to do.

I agree with @BigMaloe when he says that this is due diligence and to be expected.

Honestly I don't think, it will pay off very much but you gotta try it out right? The knicks are in no rush whatsoever. We are just antsy fans who are stressed out.

In this case it would be simple..... the new front office will sit down with him.... they will talk crap about making him the main attraction.....blah blah blah... knowing full well that KP is their man for now and the future...... This could just be a stall tactic from the knicks.... they are just stupid because they hold a losing hand. Carmelo has chosen 2 teams and holds a no trade clause.... they cannot WIN.... not matter what.... either they cut him and take the $10 million dollars in dead money for 5 years.... or they dump Melo to us and play ball with what is being offered.....

Oh... and when they tell Melo about their desires to put him back in the line up.... which is obviously for price boosting reasons and nothing else..... he will say GTFO... and hurry and send me to the Rockets or do this buy out... I do not have a desire to be a Knick anymore..... (building on my last post about the seed of playing with CP3 and a winner) that has been planted.

Melo wants to settle in, he's not waiting until mid-season or close to camp.

Knicks are always doing things the wrong way.

Bash the guy to a pulp then ask him to stay lol

but why do people leave out the most obvious option for the Knicks: they don't have to freaking trade him. they can wait. they aren't going anywhere this year and you can't rebuild a team in one offseason. they just got a new GM and i'm sure they are taking a long view. Not trading Melo is an option. what am i missing?

Exactly.... and why it was imperative to get the deal done ASAP. Nothing is static. If it comes out that 2-3 days ago the Rockets could have iced the deal with a couple of second rounds, this will be on Morey.

You strike hard and fast when you have a shot to get a player you really value.

Although I think the Rockets knew the Knicks were not entirely serious.... several people with the Rockets said the same thing when I asked why a deal wasn't done ... "it's the Knicks!"... followed by a smile and chuckle.

It's an option, but it's one that makes you look like an ******* to the same players you're going to want to attract going forward.

He may be ready for Houston, but he's probably just as ready for NY if he has to stay there. I really don't think he cares either way.
