Cat had a great game, no doubt, but Steve kicked the Spurs butts. Franchise was the reason the Rockets won this game.

well, i had to watch the Spur's broadcast of the game. It was funny how the announcers were talking about how easy the game would be with the big men dominating and grabbing all the rebounds that houston would miss. And then there was the 20 point lead, and how the spurs would cruise to an easy 12th victory in a row against houston. Well there goes SA's 9 game winning streak.

Steve and Cat were in the ZONE tonight. Cat's been in the zone lately.. just on a tear. Great game,

TEAM BALL was the reason we won this game. We would not have won this game without BULL. He opened it up for the rest of the team - and they answered!!!

Mess with the BULL and you get the HORN!!!

You're right, Bullard had a great game as well. He hit some big threes and got the Rockets going. There were key contributions from a number of players. But when Franchise started asserting himself, the Rockets got on a roll.

We where down early not because of piss poor play - but cuz the shots didnt fall. Franchise was also missing open shot - atleast the first 4 was misses. Only one that hit the basket was Mo - rest of the team (yeah thats everybody) clanged.

    BULL
He is the first hero of the game IMO. without him hitting his 3 in this game we would lose big time, as we needed him to hit those shots to spread the oppositon while the others where a threat to score otherwise - these 3's could not have been from Wink or Cat as they are needed elsewhere. Of course we could have had ot from Shandon or Kenny, but then again that would never ever happen. BULL can do this when he is hot. Shandon and Kenny can maybe hit 2-3.

    MO
Before I move on to the bigger contributors. Mo was the only one hitting early, and without him we would be down 30 and not 20 before Bull went of.

    WINK
Man what a game going for 30 shooting 9-20, and getting to the line 12 times for 10 points. 5 rebounds, and noone bigger than the offensive he grabbed with 9 secound remaining forcing Spurs to foul. 11 assist, 2 steals and a BLOCK.

    CAT
Cat also had a monster game, and when noone seemed to grab a rebound he did. A dub-dub for Cat too with his 26/10 on 10-23 shooting. 4-4 FT.

    CATO
Not much for him in the statsheet here, but he had to play Duncan 1 on 1 as Rockets would not double. He made Duncan work for all of his points, and didnt get into foultrouble (Ok he did early in the first Q, but he played the whole 2nd half) Rockets had 4 more blocks than Spurs, and most of this can be cuz of Cato's presence in the middle although he only had 1 himself.

    The TEAM
Shandon did not have the best of nights but early on he was grabbing bounds and got 6 in 21 mins. In the second half we needed Bull to shot 3s. Los also saw limited time when Cato was out with foultrouble eaarly in the first Q. In 14 mins he got 3 rebs, 1 ast, 2 pts (1-1) and 3 BLOCKS! Kenny was missing early, but when the rest of the team yelled, he was also hitting and got 7pts (3-8) including 1-1 FT. He also grabbed 3 boards and had 1 assist in 22 mins. The only one who completly disappered today was the hero of late Mooch, who ended with 0 pts and 2 rebs in 21 mins.

Nice post Heath...that's the objectivity that is so rare around these parts with the pooh's and others professing that the franchise is our savior by divine right and he won the game for us, everyone else bow down. Damn, it is great watching francis show up and contribute against a big team for once this season, but pooh, learn to acknowledge the whole team on BIG TIME WINS. It makes for a funner time watching and being a true Rocket's fan, not just a Francis fan.

So Heath, are you practicing for your own thread with that post. Take it to the board, man. Don't let your efforts get wasted in a thread of subjectivity. (no slight to ROXRANs thread intended--the Cat showed up to assert himself the whole game. You never have to tell cat to assert himself. Big time player.)

I can understand how people can complain that Francis doesnt get enough credit, because I always see Cat threads after his big games which are well deserved, but I almost never see Francis threads.

Maybe we all just expect it from him. I don't know.

You're right, it was a team win, but bullard's 3's were all predicated on the pick and roll between him and Francis. I'm pretty sure almost all of his 6 3's were off passes from Francis.

Great job by Rudy and Steve to keep on going to the hot hand.

I really thought that the KEY stretch of the game was the 7-0 run to end the first half. A 13 point deficit looks alot better than a 20 point one.

    HP,

    Come on now,

This isn't the FIRST time Francis has shown up against a big team.

To sum it up, this was a TEAM WIN, and you are right Heath, Bullard was the MVP tonight.
