Knicks have NO real leverage to negotiate and ask for that sort of deal. Clock is ticking for them. If no teams are willing to trade or provide what they want, then they will have to simply buy him out to unload him. Everyone knows that. We'll just wait it out. That's the way I understand it. If they cave to a buyout, he's a FA and can walk to wherever he wants to go. Knicks FO certainly not in an enviable position. Of course, we would, in turn, have to move Anderson to accommodate Melo if he comes here. It's a chess game and Morey is a master.
