East vs. West... Knicks may be trash, but with Harkless and Barea they could end up being respectable in East (better than ATL, BRK, IND, ORL) whereas DAL might be at bottom of West (better than PHO and LAL maybe MEM)

Guess whose contract will be very hard for Mowy to trade? Melon!

His no trade clause still applies as a Rocket.

Dude we already know why. Knicks and rockets have a framework already done. They are both just trying to synergize the deal.Guys we are trying to get an ace big.

Either now or set ourselves up for a trade for one at the deadline.

I would be shocked if the Knicks won more than 30 games...the Mavs could be a 35-40 win team

NY would be stupid to agree to a pick swap

Maybe or maybe POR realizes they have a shot at 4th seed in West (so low 1st rounder who won't contribute to their top 10 in 2018) + already have another 2nd in 2021 (from Miami). Davis won't play. So it is essentially Harkless & low 1st for Anderson who could actually propel them to WC legitimacy. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Anderson helped this team to one of its best records of all time. IJS

still rather have Melo and his NTC than Ryno...Melo can opt out and be a FA next summer anyways, and if not, he'll be a FA in 2019

adding Melo gives us a much higher ceiling as a team and increases our odds of re-signing CP3

at least I can trust Melo to make a shot at Toyota Center and not go ghost in the playoffs

He's opting out next summer, so it doesn't matter. We just need his bird rights to go above the apron.

Point being, if we had Melo in Game 6 last year it would be a W.

Certainly speculative, but does Miami make sense as a third (or fourth?) team for them to move Dragic as well? Granted, they enjoyed success last season but there was murmurs prior that they were trying hard to move him post-Wade and rebuild around Whiteside/Winslow.

Can someone please remind me of the dates that our NG contracts need to be cut/traded/signed? Can't seem to find this info, but I remember reading it in the Chris Paul threads.

Seems that this would be our absolute deadline for any big move done this off season, correct?
