I want to sincerely thank you for all of the information that you provide and you definitely bring ALOT to this forum.
I really don't think the Rockets need to be that desperate to get a deal done. They have a 55+ win team and has until next Februrary to add more. Besides, Melo is not going anywhere without his approval and as long as he wants Houston above other teams, it'll get done at some point. There is no real "OKC swiping Paul George" risk here. Read NYK's press release statement upon the signing of Tim Hardaway: “Bringing back Tim to his original NBA home is an exciting time for him and this franchise,” Mills said. “As a versatile wing whose game continues to improve, he will fit right into the core of players that make up a roster emphasizing youth, athleticism, accountability and unselfishness.” It's pretty clear they don't want Melo anymore. Their alternative, holding onto Melo and paying him and risk locker room issues, ain't very good.
Ehhh idk if thats fair. He had to do what lebron was pressuring cavs to do. Those are lebron james moves more than david griffin moves IMO
The church of clutchfans, header We just traded Chris Paul for Patrick Beverly, and people thought we gave up too much. In what world, other than holic's, is Capella worth trading for melo??
However, there are two teams that have CMA's blessing for a trade, not 1. Knixies and Griff - - a game changer? Doubtlessly DG has been grilled extensively @Cavs players, Melo, mebbe even James' Mad Square Garden as a destination??? Mebbe the Knickerbockers want to do a deal before Griff is hired to provide plausible deniability. Perhaps Griff doesn't get offered; or doesn't accept???
I think there is more than just smoke about LeBron not being thrilled with ownership and possibly leaving. There's talks about him not being engaged in FA recruiting this summer as he had in the past. Between LeBron and CP, CP would seem to be logically the more enthusiastic recruiter. For those who need to keep from being too nervous, repeat the following: Our forward, who will be in Houston Melo be thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy trade be done, in New York as it is in Houston. Give us this day our daily threes, and forgive Coach his trespasses, as Coach forgive those who trespass against him; and lead us not into second round exit, but deliver us from Warriors. Amen.
Then he's a GM who can't stand up for himself and do whats best for the team. Perfect for the Knicks.
Im not sure any GM can stand up to lebron. Pissing lebron off and losing him in free agency is far more important of a goal than avoiding paying jr and shumphert. Also they were a win now team that was already over the cap and no other ways go improve. I dont think overpaying in those situations is that bad. Iguodala got 48 mil 3 years because warriors were in a position where they were already over the cap and no other ways to improve the team. Over paying is appropriate in that scenario IMO Teams always overpay to keep championship teams together. Look at what the ravens were forced to pay joe flacco LOL. Sometimes you dont have a choice
I like this. Potatohead doubling and tripling down. All things are pointing to Houston trade though. No rumors on the Cavs front. David Griffin is talking with the Knicks for the GM position (if the Knicks interviewed him while talking with Cleveland there may be some issues with leaking out plans). The Knicks ARE going to move Melo. The Rockets are the only other team that Melo will waive his no-trade clause for. At this point I'd be surprised if the trade doesn't go down. Although there probably isn't a hurry to get it down right now unless people want to take their vacations.
I highly doubt it. Someone said it could happen as early as Monday but I don't plan on it happening until they fill their gm role
