Hate to say rockets losing, but everytime when I predicted they lost, they just won (exclude the Dallas game) and the only game I predicted they win they lost really bad (Memphis one). Also hate to see Yao running on the floor like a no head chicken!!!

I say the Rockets will trade all of their players (as so many posters have astutely suggested in the last day) and will have no one eligible to play for tonight's game. Score: 0-0. Rockets forfeit.

This is a good early season test. Good teams occasionally lose at Dallas. They shouldn't lose home games against Phoenix...even on the second night of a back to back.

With Steve wanting to win this game I hope he still trust Yao with the ball and doesn't just think that the outing yao had against Dallas is any indication of his game. When will we see Ewing "coach" yao and not just run drills and talk to him. You want and attitude adjustment your not going to get it by asking him nicely.

Reasons why Rockets will win - Stephon is more of a bonehead than Stevie. Starbury and Franchise will duel tonight. Fortunately Franchise has Yao to cover him in the paint. I am sure Marion and Amare can abuse our "F", but they won't because Marbury is alway a bonehead. Enough said.

Clutch, you might also want to add "do not make posts that don't contribute to the discussion such as 'first!,' 'second!,' 'third!,'..., '10th!' and so on."

The Kings and Mavs are very different teams. We match up well with the Kings. Last year we beat them twice, I think. And whenever we lost to them last year, we gave them hell all four quarters.

The Mavs beat us handily last year, all four times, and beat us this year. We just don't match up well against the Mavs. Their shooters are too good. Their point guard is too fast. Their bench is too deep. And this year they have too many different offensive stars for our much-improved defense to handle all four quarters.

That's why we lost the Mavs, even though we're capable of beating other teams like the Spurs and Kings.

Plus, the Mavs, being somewhat local, really know the Rockets well. They know our weaknesses. Up until this year, a lot of the players on the Dallas Mavericks felt they were playing at home when they played at the Compaq Center. Dirk once said that it was his very place to play, and that for some reason he could score big numbers there. (That's a big insult, when an opposing player claims to have home-court advantage in your own house).

After a dramatic loss in Dallas JVG pulls out his leather belt and beats our players into shape

Id be in shock and awe if the Rockets display enough heart to win tonight. I think Steve will try to get into a point duel with Starbury only to lose that matchup, and Ming will be neutralized with double teams. Marion will make Boki cry and Amare will have Cato fouled out by halftime.

...but he gets 34 rebounds, 11 steals, 14 assists, and 18 block shots inlucding the game ending block on Amare's dunk attempt.

    Rockets win 81-80.

Marion is good, I have no doubt about that. I also have no doubt about our help defense. Specificaly, I like JJ's defensive capabilities, add that to the help D..and we imo have a good chance to limit Marion
Best case scenarion is that I am right and Cato makes the difference by stopping Stoud.. I think we still have a helluva chance if the Rox can limit the damage Marion does and stop Stoud.

Biggest worry for me right now..the bench.
Penny, Googs, J Johnson. all are capable of going off at any time..we really need everyone to play their best tonight, from SF all the way down to Ford.
Aggressive defense....lots of passing...hit the open shots since the Suns haven't been doing well on defense right now.

    also..

    Rockets are 3-1 at home
Suns are 1-2 on the road.

    Go Rockets

The Rockets will bounce back tonight. Yao may finally a decent game, Steve will have 9 assists and Mobley will get his shooting touch back...

That should put an end to the trade Steve, trade Cat, trade Yao threads for at least a couple hours...

Since everyone is in panicking mode, here it goes:

Rockets gets blown out at home by 50 points. Steve turns the ball over 15 times, Mobley and Cat goes 1-15 from the floor, Yao cries like a school girl after getting dunked on by Amare. Moochie leads the Rockets in scoring with 6 points.

And JVG completely loses it and calls Stan Van Gundy about switching jobs...

With this kind of attitude, we'll never make it to the playoffs. Mav's have our # and that attitude they have towards the Mav's sucks. Mav's will stomp all over them till this changes. (YEAH I KNOW THIS IS FOR PHOENIX!)

YOU DONT GET BLOWN OUT 5 TIMES IN A ROW AND SAY YOUR JUST NOT MAKING YOUR SHOTS!!!

Exactly the look in his face last night at the AAC..

Yao MUST make shots when he gets the ball in closer than he is tall... that he has missing them (well the last four quarters in Dallas) is pathetic...

Two takes: Yao plays to win by making shots fall, then we win 95 to 83
Yao plays like he did vs. the Mavs, and we'll lose until he grows a pair, and I don't care what the score is.

Yao must get tough. And then get TOUGHER. And TOUGHER STILL if the Rockets are gonna get any win streak back.

    Hoping for a "W."
