    Portland needs to spread the floor so Lillard and CJ can penetrate and also be freed up for more open shots. Anderson will do that for them. Now whether they are willing to pull the trigger to make it happens and whether NY is interested in the pieces they would get in return is still uncertain. Deal is on the table and NY is feeling pressure to get something done. What will they do it? Think we will know something this weekend.

    On the Carmelo front, the Knicks remain interested in trading Anthony and the Houston Rockets remain interested in acquiring him, per sources.​

    Latest on 'Melo & trying to move him?

    Ian Begley: No change there. Many within the Knicks organization still think they're better off moving on from Carmelo to move forward here. Carmelo would be open to and is considering waiving that NTC to go to Houston or Cleveland. The Rockets & Knicks have been in touch. The Rockets recently expressed confidence to people that they'll be able to land Carmelo. The sticking point is, as it has been, is Ryan Anderson. Anderson is the biggest contract they can move. The Knicks have not shown interest in bringing Anderson back in a trade. The trick here is finding a third team to take on Anderson to make this deal work. It still seems both parties - Knicks & Carmelo - are more open to moving on than staying together.

    Mike Wise: I don't see them doing anything with Carmelo. And I know they haven't heard from him that he's waived his NTC. They've read it in the media but they haven't heard from him personally that he's waived his NTC and that he'd be interested or open to going to teams like Houston or Cleveland.

    Per my sources: C. Lee has told those close to him even if the Hawks match THJ offer sheet, that he believes he could still be traded.

    Could C. Lee be had in a Melo trade? Bc if so he had a solid year last year. Averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds. Shot 40% from 3 on almost 4 attempts. Plays solid defense. Would be a great add off the bench for a contender.
