For all of the people here that want melo as a rocket.. did any of y'all watch him last year as a Knicks player? I am wondering this because i really don't understand how this guy is so coveted on this board. He shot at 35% last year from the 3. He's lost a step meaning alot slower, plays little to no D still and barely rebounds. We want him as our 4? He definitely can't play the 5. He also is not a very good nor willing passer. I really am curious as to why everyone wants Melo. He is not Denver Melo anymore and has had problems with D'antoni, George Karl, and Phil so far. I don't remember if he even got along with Mike Woodson. Cp3 is no Lebron and unless we really have someone that can keep the guy in place or in check, this move could turn into a ticking time bomb.

Melo is still one of the better scorers in the league. His 3 point percentage was higher than Harden and Ariza's and he would be getting much better looks on the Rockets. His rebounding numbers were better than Anderson's last year.

The real reason most people want him is because he is a much more dynamic scorer than Anderson. Standing Pat likely isn't going to get it done against the Warriors. We need a 3rd legit scorer like Melo. Plus, the risk is low because he will likely opt out next year.

I agree standing pat is not the answer but Melo? I literally see this guy play on every tv here in NyC and it is not pretty. Maybe a change of scenery helps get it done but that's an insane risk. The guy has been a black hole his entire career. I really hope Chris Paul can put a leash on him because if he reverts to his Knicks habbits then we are screwed.

When you play pickup ball and you're on a team you hate do you give it your all?

He then spends a day in Houston, realizes that it feels like a sauna outside and changes his statement that he would only wave his no-trade if it is for Cleveland.

i dont get guys who say this ****

dont u know playing on shitty teams makes players worse, and playing on good teams makes players better?

melo isnt known to be all heart every game. if he's on a bad team, you wont get his best. he has shown he can ball with the best back in his denver days and when knicks went on that rare 2nd round playoff run.

thats how a lot of players are. its been like that forever. he didnt know the knicks management would be pure ****. they just signed thj for 70m! knicks are gonna be knicks. melo nad kp need to ge tout of there

Please watch this and educate yourself. Its really not that hard to grasp. Quit talking about knicks melo as if thats what we would get. Entirely different circumstances. Would play a different position. Literally the best player hes played with with the knicks that could create offense is J.R. Smith. Thats it. Never played with a star in NY . He has to do everything. We have discussed this at length on this forum. Anyway. Watch this please and learn

It doesnt matter what youve seen on tv with him and the knicks. No need to even bring it up again. He wouldnt be asked to do that.

He shot 36%, technically 35.9. That is very good.

and thats with no help and being defended as the number 1 option. That number would be more like 40 in houston.

Thank you for this. Really interesting viewing. While I now feel optimistic about the idea of Melo being the 3rd best player I am still going to hold some reservations when comparing the Olympic and NBA performances. While it is clear he is better not being the number one option there will be times when he will play without at least one of Harden and Paul on the floor if not both so will be interesting to see how he fares when he is the second or even first option. Acquiring Melo should be an upgrade on Anderson so here's hoping it comes off!
I also am astounded to learn the difference in the 3 point line when comparing the NBA and FIBA. I knew there was a difference but 19 inches is very significant.

Mike D said there shouldn't be a time that one of Harden or CP3 won't be on the court

I knew he would be good spot up shooter....... I hope he can finish strong at the basket

Houston and Cavs are the perfect places.
