It's not a SnT. It's a trade for crowder. Eliminate Hayward from your thoughts. In a vacuum would Utah trade a 1st for crowder? Highly possible. Where a SnT becomes beneficial for Utah is because it helps Boston clear cap AND gain the MLE, similar to Houston. Soooooo It's called a SnT but it's not really helping Boston because they can easily shed any of smart, Bradley or crowder no problem. What Utah is selling, is the ability for Boston to gain the MLE and salary space. Is that enough for crowder alone? No. He's more valuable than the MLE with his contract. Is it worth Avery? Possibly. Considering his contract situation. You could use the MLE for a player of same amount of $ but more years. Sooooooo You could acquire Avery for free possibly in engaging a SnT with Boston. If yoh really want crowder as well, and why wouldn't you? You can throw Boston a first. So it comes down to, is gaining Avery and crowder worth a 1st? Yes. Does it feel shitty looking at it from the fanspoint of your giving Hayward and a 1st for Avery and crowder? absolutely. But you can't think of it like a SnT. Boston doesn't really need to do a SnT if they don't want to. Houston DID need to. This is about extracting as much value as possible. There isnt any great free agents left. They will absolutely be trying to stay competitive. Adding crowder and jae helps a lot. It actually IMPROVES their defense from last year adding rubio, Avery, and crowder while losing hill and Hayward. Where this hurts is offensively. But they very well could have the #1 defense
So Ainge was calling while this "s+t" was going on NY and askign for Hernangomez and a first for Smart. Which is basically proof that this s+t is bogus. Also that Ainge is his usual greedy self. Let's see who is the idiot who will trade a prospect and a first for Marcus Flopper.
what a huge shock! A S+T that didn't make much sense couldn't be completed! wow! I guess I must be a hater of woj too, for doubting it.
The Celtics would be foolish to give up Bradley. His on ball defense helps cover up Isaiah Thomas' deficiencies, and he's turned himself into a dependable three point shooter. Hayward is a nice playmaker and all around solid player, but he's not an elite perimeter defender like Bradley.
Yeah, i agree but it's probably a difficult decision cause while Bradley is an absolutely perfect fit next to Hayward and Thomas, he's going to get paid big next summer, and i don't think Anige wants to pay him since Thomas is also expiring and there's a chance they add a top player via trade...Smart and Crowder are not as good as a fit, but they're not going to get paid as much as Bradley.
