Hard capped simply means we are hard capped at $125 million. We only have currently spend $108 million of this $125. We cannot exceed $125 no matter what, through any machinations for the upcoming season. So we can still sign guys, use TPE, use BAE, etc. as long as the total never exceeds $125 million.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Zhou. His length and size is a plus and he seems to move well.

While I hope to see him add some weight and strength I think his stature is much less of a concern in today's NBA .

I hope this guy hits cause if he does he gives us something only one other team has...... well 2 teams since Durant is clearly a 7 footer with an amazing wingspan and lights out shooter...

Honestly this guy hitting can change the course of our teams trajectory exponentially......

I think Qi is going to be fine, he'll put on some significant strength and mass on before his second season. If he boxes out properly, plays some decent off the ball defense and works on extending the range on his jumper he might play some meaningful minutes next year. It's a huge IF though, Capela didn't really play much in his first season until Howard got hurt.

I just hope he out plays his "NBA draft" comparison in Loren Woods. I think it's reasonable to hope he can play similar to Kristaps Porzingis.. eventually. People who try to compare him to KD are over reaching, he's never going to develop that type of ball handling or passing ability Durant has.

I'm not getting my hopes up high because as soon as he gets good for us, China goin start force-exploiting him into exhaustion like they did Yao(even though Yao did comply outta national pride)

I've now seen Zhou Qi compared to Kevin Garnett and Kristaps Porzingis.

The homerism on this board knows no bounds.

    Please temper your expectations people!

This guy is coming over for endorsements. By bringing him in, Le$ gets the sponsorship. He won't play significant minutes in the NBA as a rotation player, and this year will spend his time 'developing' in the DLeague. Repeat the dose next year.
But we'll sell Harden and Chris Paul jerseys like crazy in China in the meantime.

Really? You honestly think it's not the slightest bit reasonable to compare Qi's ceiling to Porzingis? I would never compared him to KD or even KG for that matter.

They're both over 7ft tall, both are lanky and aren't crazy gifted with athleticism, and both have gifted shooting touches. It's not like I compared him to a future Dirk Nowitzki.

    Me too!

But it looks extremely unlikely - just doesn't have what it takes.

No. It is not reasonable. It's so ludicrous I feel ridiculous typing anything on that topic.

It's clear you have no handle on how skilled Kristaps Porzingis is and how far Zhou Qi has to go before he gets to see garbage time NBA minutes.
