Part of Melo's problem is that he's not a #1 guy and that was the role he was used to in NY. He needs to be a #3 guy, which is what he'd be in Houston. If you tried to make Ryan Anderson "the guy" on a team, he'd struggle too.

For the first time, Melo was actually a negative in the box score. The Knicks were actually a better team with him on the bench.

Are there moving trucks at his house? Where's his barber?

Really his biggest problem is he has declined as an athlete and this past year he completely stopped caring about defense. Had his second worst defensive impact ever and unlike past years where he was a big offensive positive, this year he was just barely a positive on offense.

His right really mean nothing to the Knicks because Lull is to old for a rebuilding team to be interested in.

It's possible that a lot of that is due to having no hope of his team being even decent because Melo knows he doesn't have the talent to completely carry a team.

Struggle?!?!?! If Ryan Anderson were your number one option, you'd be a sure bet for a top 3 pick in the draft.

Maybe the Knicks need him after all:

Dolan: "And we're going to build around you, Ryan."

Anderson: (pinches in a wet nervous fart, speaks in shaky voice) "Um, yeeaah. Let's do this. Hey, where's the restroom? I gotta, you know...."

This was posted at 5 a.m., long before the Reddit leak. Just saying...

This. He could be Vince Carter-ing it like his last season in Toronto.

You make him a 3rd option on a contender and lighten the load and save him the playoffs then he can thrive. At this stage of his career and broken down body it is wise to lighten the load on him. The Knicks are running him into the ground.

Exciting indeed, but a simple flight to Houston doesn't really mean much, if we're being real.

Right. That's the real bucket of water here.

Someone suggested that Paul/Harden could have brought him down here to try to recruit him. That's a possibility. Maybe he's hanging out with those guys to make a "Houston or no-one" type decision.

If a trade were happening I don't get why he would need to be here, even to negotiate his trade kicker. That all should be done with his agent.
