How can I diss them? Easily....Calvin is a joke who takes himself too seriously. He is NOT the main man anymore...the players are the story, not him. I have a sense of humor. When Calvin says something funny and quits being an ass I'll laugh, trust me. I'll say it again, I like his enthusiasm...he just need to channel it in the right place. Unlike Jim Foley who offers nothing to the radio broadcast but countless stats, Calvin actually knows the game and has a lot of insight to offer. His problem is he thinks HE is the story. He needs to spend less time talking about how great he was and concentrate on the game. When the option is available (TNT), I DO watch it instead of Calvin. Btw, his suits suck. Look the Murphy-Worrell tandem is probably the funnest in the country. Listening to TNT, or any other station I feel like turning the volume down or listening to Gene Peterson. The duo may go over the edge sometimes, but at least they keep it fun, which is more than you could say about most other announcers!!! ------------------
i do have league pass and murphy is the most annoying announcer out there...the warriors guys are pretty good...trent tucker (t'wolves) is really bad....he talks constantly (albeit about the game) but he makes sure to annunciate everything and it is hard to listen to... i'll probably get nailed for this, but bill walton is actually enjoyable to listen to when he does the CLIPPER games...he is aggravating as anything on national games, but on clipper games, he is fine... ------------------
I have to agree with those who have had enough of Calvin. Living outside of Houston, I have not been exposed to his "unique" basketball speeches, but I CAN say this, from owning League Pass: There are only two commentators who are any worse: "Hod Rod" Hundley and Ron Boone, the two guys that cover, you guessed it, the Utah Jazzzzzzzzzzz. Living in Salt Lake, I try my best to avoid watching Jazz games, and I have still had way too much of these guys. Hundley is usually too drunk at halftime to think straight, and Boone looks like he just got off a train and doesn't know where he is. ------------------ Jazzkiller

I don't see how you all don't like Calvin Murphy. Sure he talks alot about himself, but it's not really that annoying. It's actually kinda humorous for me. Then Calvin starts talking about how underpaid he is and how much money Billy W. gets. Calvin is tite. That's all there is too it. Good idea. I've wanted to show my complete hatred of the Jazz/Minnesota/Jazz/Jazz/Jazz/Nuggets/Jazz/ Cleveland/Jazz/Nuggets/Minnesota/Minnesota/ Sacramento/Jazz/Sacramento announcers for a LONG time. I get very pissed when I don't get Bill and Calvin on league pass. I HAVE HAD TO LISTEN TO HOT ROD HUNDLEY TWICE THIS SEASON, AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Bill and Calvin keep me watching even when the Rockets are being blown out. Calvin and Bill are the best COMBO in the league... Sure, if you mix and match Calvin with someone, or Bill with someone else, it could be better... BUT, the other guys out there are flat out annoying as hell, or you have to turn the volume way up to hear what the hell they are saying... Personally, I also like watching the Clippers play... They are somewhat entertaining, but Bill Walton makes me crack up... Murphy and Walton would be a hilarious duo, it's just that the dumbasses who watch the game and don't know what's going, might not like it... I can't believe Rocket fans would rag on Calvin. Obviously they're new Rocket fans cuz any longtime Rocket fan knows what he means to our Franchise and wouldn't throw 5hit his way. He like Rudy are Rocket lifers. Yeah, I know he's kinda looney sometimes, but big *ucking Deal. Rocket fans ragging on him is like Christians ragging on Jesus. The guys on 610 a few days ago were saying that his hair was an "M" . . . I'll have to watch out for it tonight Calvin and Bill are SO much better than the Spurs announcers . . . if you've never watched anyone else commentate the games, you have no idea how good Bill and Calvin are. Spurs announcers are SO boring, monotone and dull that I don't see how someone can stand to watch it. Even if it's Rockets,Spurs I have a difficult time watching it because it's so horrible.
