I guess what it means bandwagoners are people who blindly accuse the team, players and whoever involved in the losing of a game. then praise the same group of people to death when winning. Anyway, it's actually kinda fun to see all the ups and downs in the bbs after each win and loss.
btw, don't worry, tanner, I doubt anyone's gonna kick u out the bbs. :)

remember the days, when there were no stevie and no yao to talk about....

...sure, there were "some" i-hate-pippen-threads... but it is nothing compared to what goes on now on the board...

man how time goes by, when i joined this board (with my old account) mobley was a rookie and now, it´s his 6th season...

damn it is even worse than i thought it would be. i'm really thinking about not coming to the GARM after a loss. people are so negative. if we do not win 82 games per season we should trade evereybody on the team. People who are saying francis should be traded. i even saw a thread were somebody said we should trade Yao for Kenyon Martin:confused:
i am really thinking about using a ignore list, but i'm getting the feeling it would be a to long list.
i'm depressed by the way the people on this bbs react. People get a life, and to quote GrEgOnOmIcS: stop posting.
i never thought i would say something like that.

p.s. i do not mean everybody. i know there are alot of people who are normal. and i did not mean the whole board, but just to many people. mostly newbies. (i did not mean to discriminate, it is just true)

    Guys:

While I agree with the sentiment that we need to give this team a chance and one loss does not make a season and that this talk is ridiculous, this is a posting board and with that as long as you do not make it personal, keep the language relatively clean and follow the posting rules you are free to post any feeling or thought you have. Censoring those who bash, while agreed that is can be mindless drilling at times, is part of this fabric.

A majority of posters (I would say 80%), do not bash. Most who say anything negative are just venting. The other 20% do bash and out of this group, probably 50% make a true argument that they believe to be true and the other 50% are just loose bandwagon cannons. My point here is that this is a microcosim of sports society. I challenge you to go to any site in America and see a different reaction. Every BBS site like this has groupings who dislike a player or dislike a coach or dislike a system and will never be happy. There are negative nellies (not to bash Don Nelson here :)) in every crowd.

So, how about we quit with the bashing the bashers emails and instead bash the bashers within the topic :) Though this is censoring to, but in a way it is only maintaining organization of the board...

    GROW UP HOUSTON FANS

    GROW UP HOUSTON FANS

I'm one of the biggest Rocket fans in Houston but this is getting ridiculous. The FANS of Houston are starting to make me BARF just yesterday and all of last week we were talking about how Steve is doing everything the right way and Yao Ming is a God and Cat playing sort of well and Van Gundy should be coach of year.. Now just after ONE lost we have lost our minds all I'm hearing is trade Francis or Yao etc... but really The Rockets should trade there FANS... We are hipocrits(i know i cant spell) when these guys or on there game we love them you cant tell me that every great player in the NBA have good games every night.. I know they make all the money in the world but how about you step in Francis or Yao shoes for a game.. I remember the New Jersey game francis was HORRIBLE in the first 3 qauters we were dogging him say trade him or bench him but look what happen he comes in late in the fouth and sill the game for us and them all of a sudden he is the best thing since coffee...or when Cat played horrible is some games we wanted to trade him but if it wasnt for Cat in the MIami game we would have lost..basicly i'm saying if we want to really be fans we should be TRUE fans get behind or team in good games or bad games...

p.s. WE ARE SOUNDING LIKE NEW YORK FANS

p.s I wont even get on the Ed.Griffin subject...(great fan support for someone admiting that they have a problm (yall dont care just trade him, this goes pass basketball this is a mans life) please GROW UP HOUSTON get of the PMS:eek:

I guess many forget that the NBA season is 82 games long! And let's see when the Rockets were seeded 6th, I am sure many folks figured the Rockets were CRAP cuz we were sixth seed and all. But as soon as we started winning it all then all of sudden everyone was a Rockets fan! Honestly it is just ONE FRIGGIN game! Big deal! It is not the end of the world. I can handle a loss from teams like Dallas (because we are NOT in their category yet) but I expect the Rockets to IMPROVE drastically on teams that they SHOULD beat which we had problems with last year. And so far this year they are doing it! Honestly I am not worried about this game, let the MAVS get a big head and think they STILL OWN the Rockets. But when it comes to play off time it is a whole different ball game! Anyone remmy the San Antonio and Houston version back in 94 or 95 was it? When San Antonio OWNED Houston in the regular season but in the playoffs the Rockets just WHOOPED the Spurs. RELAX folks! We will be FINE!!!!

There's an easy way to silence the shrieking bandwagoners. DON'T REPLY TO THEIR POSTS. If you see a post that says "Trade the entire backcourt," the poster's intent is pretty clear. So why is it necessary for 20 people to reply with 20 different ways to say "That's ludricous!"

I see a lot of posts that say "Don't feed the trolls," but it seems very few people put that mantra into practice. Want the idiotic, reactionary, bandwagon posts to fall? Bite your tongue and LET THEM FALL. Letting a silly post disappear off the front page is a much more effective way to deal with a bandwagoner than filling his post with emoticons and one-liners.

Well you can't blame NEW people for coming in. I mean I bet yuo that the SENIOR(who use to be a newbie themself) use to bash the hell out of the players and go on to post crazy stuff when you loses. I find it unfair for some new people who come in to post becasue they havent been around here long enough but for the Senior posters to bash them isn't fair and calling them a Yao only Fan and ect. You going to give it time for the NEW posters to understand why we are frustrated with their posts. I mean it;'s not hard at all to avoid them. I knew this was coming I just stay away from some of the posts since it's the same thing all over again. No big deal, jsut let the posts bump itself off.

actually....back when alot of us joined...there were a few knee jerkers around...but for the most part, the posters around here were more likely to realize that it is still early in the season and not want to trade everyone on the team and be shrieking about stupid stuff. I cant speak for everyone...but when I was new here...I didnt feel the need to post a bunch of negative crap over a loss to a superior opponent. Matter of fact..I posted very rarely until 2 years ago. and I have been here since late 98.

I followed the good rule that says you should lurk, read and get to know the community before you start posting..

this place was alot more civilized back then.

as for your hypothesis on why people get labeled as Yao Only fans.

they are called that because all they care about is Yao...all the want to see is Yao...if Yao struggles...it must be one of those other moron players on that team that Yao is on.

they are the same posters who never cared about the Rockets before Yao, and wont care about them after Yao retires.

    period...end of rant

If you are real FANS of the Rockets, why are you bashing them for losing ONE Game?

I've been a Rockets Fan for a very long time. Ever since they won their first two championships. So, I've seen them go through some hard times since then. I've been happy being able to watch them again this year and they are doing better and I think the game last night they were just off but why the heck are you people who call yourselfs real fans bashing them for LOSING ONE Game to ONE good team? What, beating the first 5 other times they beat means they suck just because the other teams aren't doing so well? Well, you know what? Those other teams are part of the NBA team too! A win is a win and a loss is loss. You can't win them all. I'll still back the Rockets! What MOST of the FAKE fans on here need to realize too is we are pretty depleted with injuries, suspensions, so what's the deal? We're still doing good.
