When is he going to play? Paul, Harden, and Gordon are going to average 90 minutes+ a game. That leaves maybe 6 minutes a game, give it to Taylor or Williams in development.

Monta is a high volume low percentage shooter. He is exactly what we don't need with the players we've assembled.

This is another guy the Rockets should look at for the vet min.... if we dont get crawford, then he should be another guy we look at for the back up PG spot. We Wouldnt miss a beat

    vet min tho.

I neither want him to be the decision maker on the floor with the ball, nor do I want him to be someone who you would expect to get himself free off the ball. If we lost Gordon, I'd consider it. But right now, I'd rather Gordon brings the ball up than Monta.

No to monta ellis. This guy is a disaster. He has the dwight complex and can't shoot. He needs to join jordan and dwight in nc where they are already champs. Worst of all it's not like Monta would add defence with his streaky shooting. We do not want to make the Rockets into an Isiah Thomas Knicks or Phoenix Suns.

if we're gonna add an offensive guard for spot minutes we should get one who fits the system better. jamal has a decent 3pt shot, monta barely has one.

dont need his passing, we got 2 of the best in the league.

Plenty of teams aren't laughing at the idea of Monta's shooting on a new team...He's a Rocket killer, and yeah, due diligence over here as I mentioned awhile back.

I'm sorry, but Daryl and co. would be idiots to try to get Monta on the Rockets. He's not a defender and he can't shoot threes. And he's undersized. And he's redundant with EJ on the team.

With CP3 and Harden a need for a 4th guard isn't important because one of the two will always be running point and we have EJ and PJ to play the 2. What is important is finding a 6-7 to 6-10 forward who can defend 3 to 4.

Ariza and Anderson need help, and Tucker can't be the only help they have.

We have our scorers/shooters. Adding another scorer would be great, but we need to address rebounding and defending. It's what killed us against the Spurs. Nene went down so harden had to defend Gasol and Aldridge which tired him out. Even Cod said he would have rather wanted Taj over Lou. Don't repeat the same mistake by getting a guy who is worse than Lou Williams.

Please Morey. Don't sign Monta. We need a 4th guard, yes, but it's not nearly as important as adding another forward who can slide in at the 4 when needed. Cause at the moment it looks like Ariza is going to lead us in minutes in the playoffs again trying to play the 3 and 4. A guy like Monta will likely demand 24 minutes per game which would then force Ariza to slide up so he doesn't lose his minutes and so on.

Relax. Due Diligence does not mean imminent.

Do recall the loss of offensive firepower from SweetLou though.

Due Diligence watching Jamal Crawford for same reasons. Certain guys in certain situations reinvent that gun they came into the league with.

Remember the EGO injury fears? A trip to Houston and you have the 6th man of the year and reigning 3point Champ.

Sorry, not my cheerful self today, but doing what I can before bed.

The guys you think are terrible based on reputation or the guys you shudder at when their name is on a piece of paper can become the guys you adore for grit and redemption.

Some posters crapped all over Ron Artest after defending himself in Detroit. But, his pride and effort taught those naysayers in Htown to love him.

....and then he went on to win a ring with Kobe. We all love a story of reinvention.

    never ever

can't play defense and can't hit threes, what's the point of him being on the floor for us

    Sounds good.

Monta or Jamal aren't bad for our second unit. And if love comes,it would be nice but who would we trade. Would we do 3 or 4 team-deal?

I also just think we do need one big guy to help nene and capela. Someone to take the load off them during the regular season. Like maybe reed, bogut or McGee idk

Btw I personally don't mind Ryan. He has been through a lot and I think he will shoot better next season

The rockets played their best basketball from mid-November to Mid-January Way before Lou was on the team and while Corey Brewer was on the team. It means the Rockets are capable of being an elite team without having that 4th guard that specializes in just scoring.

I understand the front office doing their due diligence, but real due diligence is setting up a meeting with Andre Iguodala even though we know he can re-sign with a better team and for much more money than we could offer. That's due diligence.

Due Dilligence is looking at every angle in obtaining Carmelo Anthony because we understand that he could possibly be that 3rd star who can play the 4 and play as 'Olympic Melo' and make Houston a much more attractive landing spot for ring chasers and close friends of his.

Adding Crawford and Monta just means that the Rockets aren't sure we can't find a forward who can help Ariza and Anderson off the bench so instead we're trying to find instant offense to a somewhat crowded spot. I understand Chris Paul needs a back up ball handler so we don't have another Tyler Ennis problem. What we don't need is to run another undersized 3 guard or god forbid 4 guard line up just because we have J Crossover or Monta have it all.

Leandro would he an adequate enough pick up as the 4th guard. That is probably the best case scenario. I'm cool with Morey looking at every angle, but some things are higher on the to-do list, and adding another guard who will demand minutes shouldn't be up there. There are only 240 minutes in a game for a team, and being forced into playing undersized 3-guard line ups because we have to play them forces us into letting the Spurs and Thunder beat us in rebounding in the 2016 playoffs. Keep in mind we lost Beverley who averaged about 6 rebounds a game himself.

I have no doubt Monta can be a solid 6th man on another team, but he doesn't fit our needs at the moment. Crawford still knows how to score for himself too, but at 37 Im not sure he's going to reinvent his game, and we would still have him playing the 2/3 which again doesn't completely address our concerns. Unless we really want Ariza and PJ being Nene's help when he's not playing next to Anderson.

I understand our front office looking at every angle and looking at every available player or future available player, but that's gonna be a no for me, dog.
